RIPCORD is a friendly gay bar with a very laid back atmosphere. There's a spirit of acceptance for all shades of gay from leather to lesbians, twinks to tranny's and everything in between. RIPCORD is the most diverse gay crowd by hosting a wide range of events from Sunday Show Tunes, Art Shows, Geeks Who Drink and theme parties.... The bottom line is RIPCORD is everything gay. RIPCORD also has the biggest outdoor patio of all the gay bars in the Montrose, pool tables and darts. TV's have videos and regular shows during the week. An unassuming facade with a very welcoming interior. "Bring a friend. Talk to strangers."

Nice friendly bar with a comfy local feel. Bartenders are great and the regulars there are fun to be around. There is always plenty of conversation on just about any topic you can imagine. There is always something going on in there! I love this place.
This place is actually one of my favorite lounges in houston.. The bouncers are pretty nice, i'm under 21, but they always let me in.. I really like the place.. There is a pretty decent crowd and the lounge is well managed.
this place is a dark smokie hole but if you like shuffleboard and ? then come on in. it's got some beautie's behind the bar, which is surprising. it's a local bar with a local crowd. free food on sunday's.
Very nice people, great place to watch a show. Recommend you try and find balcony seats so you don't have to stand the whole show. Great view, there's a bar there, and you can enjoy the show sitting. Foundation Room has pretty decent food.
14. Blue Collar Bar
Great place! The annual "Urban Cowboy" Reunions are held there and always bring out the crowds. It's the place to be! Great bands, entertainers, and the best in country music played there! Thanks,~Cowboy~, cast member, Urban Cowboy
15. Blue Room
`Where everybody knows your name' kinda place. Beer and Wine, or BYOB and brown-sack your own drink. That's what I do. Very neighborly and well-mannered folks. Strict proprietor. Immaculate bar and bathrooms..... C'mon!...... John Watts, League City Texas
This place has good food. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because their kitchen is open a limited amount of time. Their burgers are big and juicy. They have fried veggies that are great. I have only eaten carry out that my husband picked up so I can't tell you about the inside …

Not your average soul food joint! Stopped in here last weekend and was amazed. I am originally from St. Louis, where my friends and I used to frequent their original restaurant, and the food was awesome as always. It's hard to come by a quality soul food restaurant that actually gives you what y…
I usually come here right after work for happy hour. It's a great place to relax and unwind. Now that the weather has cooled off, I enjoy a some great wine outside on the patio. The patio is HUGE! The last time I went, I shared a delicious cheese plate and some wine with a friend. It was p…
This place has been near my house as long as Ive been out here. My bro and I decided we should go.(he's gone before)IBeing an open-minded person, I was like ""okay why not?"", I came in and it reminded me a little bit of wolfies. I ordered a bacon burger with fries and a drink. I was clueless wh…
We had dinner there before seeing the band, IronHorse...excellent food. The place has just been remodeled and the new decor is pretty cool. Food was good with a lot more variety than your typical bar food. The game room with pool tables is fun but I really liked the separate ""theatre"" for …
Same crowd, same fat British guy from the efficiency apartments, same dried-up cancerous bar tender, same convicts, same Mount Marley, same Strange Brew, same dart games, same chubby chasers, same everything. But those Big A beers for $3.00 hit the old Spatten. This is not a classy joint,; but they did re-do the bathrooms a few years back.Saw a chick wet her pants, and another light matches on her silicone jobs for all to see. Can see the drug dealers at Food Town the next day shopping with their grandma.Get lost in the Time Machine, be a faithful patron. Don't get too crazy, you too might climb Mt. Marley...
I first visited RIPCORD in 2001. I've seen it go through a few phases. Some better than others. Fortunately, the new managment has done a great job of bringing the gay bar into a new era of masculinity along with renovated bathrooms, a new paint job, wide range of events, cheap drinks, and friendly bartenders.RIPCORD is a gay bar usually full of 23-55yo men (Bears, Daddy's, Cubs, Twinks) and their LGBTQIA friends. The patio is the largest of all the gay bars in the Montrose and is synonymous with a fun and friendly bears.Basically, a laid back bear bar with pool, darts, and great music.
Bimbo's is a great dive bar. Cheap drinks, friendly service, friendlier people. Crazy "decor" of strange stuff all over the place. Went on a Saturday, the place was packed but still enough room to move around. It's a small club and it has some seating outside. The DJ kept the dance floor full (mostly women) when customers weren't singing Karaoke. Interesting mix of younger and older crowd. Anyone would fit in. Not for the trendy, exclusive type, for sure. Great mixed drinks and your standard beer selection. 1 pool table and that's about it. All you need for a great dive bar.
I found Gnuoy's / Nanny's Front Porch by accident and what a great find. This small and warm place was HUGE on customer service. It was very clean and well decorated. The Home Style Cooked Breakfast I enjoyed was EXCELLENT in taste and well under priced. In fact after my meal I spoke to Ms. Young (OWNER) and commended her on the quality and value of the meal. I also suggested that she raised her prices on all meal choices because it would be worth it and customers would pay for the value and service provided. Thanks for a great meal and deal.

So I've been coming to this bar for years. RIPCORD has made some great improvements over the last few months, including drink specials, staff and decor. It's a a far cry from the RIPCORD of the past, but still a great place to meet old friends, new friends and the occasional play thing. You can always find what you are looking for. Great cruising bar...Yummm! Has a great patio, events like 80s night on Friday's and strip pool on Mondays. The bartenders Rock and are sometimes Rock Hard!
Seven River Oaks encompasses two sophisticated, upscale concepts. “VII Kitchen & Craft Cocktails” is situated downstairs, and is based around our upscale perfectly crafted cocktails & martinis, an extensive wine menu, and small exquisite plates that are brought to the table steadily and continuously through the meal. Do not enter the VIP contest as what the real prize is - 3 hrs open bar of well drinks and very cheap beer that must be a reserved night a week in advanced and for the hours of 6pm to 9pm only. The place is nice inside and the dancers will only speak to you if you promise to buy them a lot of table dances, but be sure to have a good hold on your valuables as some of them tend to want to relieve you of them without your ok !!!
Looking for cool spot to pop in and have drink well Dowling Street Bar is your spot . Somedays there is live music for Happy Hour for the mature crowd .
