Wonderland Private School

First I just want to say that I am so happy and blessed that I found this school for my children. I was searching for months looking for schools I thought would be a best fit for my child. These days, you just can't place your kids with just anybody. When I found Wonderland Private I almost jumped for joy, one because it has a black staff, and two because my child wouldn't be the only black kid in the classroom like they would have been at these other private schools. I enrolled my children into the school, and after about a month I asked them how do they feel about it. My daughter who's almost 2 has learned her alphabets and also her numbers, my oldest child NOW has friends who she loves to play with and never gets tired of. I love the staff, I recommended this to all my black coworkers who were also having problems finding schools for their POC children!

Stay away. Regrettably had our child here for 8 months. Switched out of one toddler class (Yasmin) as I witnessed her yelling at my child then immediately changing her tone once she realized I was in the room. Rumors of physical abuse in another toddler room (Marshall). No leadership or accountability from the director or assistant director at the time. Just stay away.

I was very disappointed in this school.. I enrolled my son here and really hate I did . He got behind in all his subjects, they claim they help them one on one. You really on your own. And they don’t let you know if your child failing until it’s to late. They need more qualified teachers.

ASA is THE PERFECT school for students that have a talent or passion for an activity outside school. The student body is filled with serious athletes, actors, singers and others that make the most of their time away from school. It has been a gift for my daughter, an equestrian, to receive top-notch academic instruction while competing in her sport at a national level. Even though there aren't many sports and clubs provided by the school, I'm going to give the highest rating in each because it gives students the opportunity to pursue sports and other activities more than any other private school in Houston! Thank you ASA!

My son went to this school for 4 years an was held back by them in kindergarten, last year in third grade they told me my son was unable to keep up anymore, an I was advised to take him to a psychiatrist recommended by them so they would be able to help him , once the diagnosis was found the school turned there back on my son an said they were no longer able to help him , not to mention the cost it cost me for the diagnosis , an the sacrifice of paying out tuition as well, to make a long story short be careful were you take your children an trust others with there little lives , even though I'm a firm believer that God don't make mistakes for your faith, an that this is probably a blessing in disguise , I feel they failed my son an my family in more ways then one.

We were looking for a Christian school with strong academics and unfortunately we should have done much more research. Here are the list of things you should know that is not stated anywhere on their website that we had to find out the hard way:-This is a family run business owned by Herc Palmquist (do a Google search in order to verify all information I am providing). The Principal, Beckie Soliz, is the daughter of the Palmquist's. This is important b/c if a major problem happens like it did for us, you only have Beckie Soliz to speak with about it. Everyone who works at the school is either related to the Palmquist family or are very close friends. There is not a school board posted on their website like other private schools. We were told there was a board but were never allowed to speak with anyone except Beckie Soliz and a new person named John Trevino who is introduced as a second "Principal". The problem is, Mr. Trevino works for the family so you are back to square one because he reports directly to the daughter/Principal. To summarize, this doesn't provide a checks and balances system when you have a family owned school. Your only choice will be, pull your child out of the school and keep paying tuition for a school your child doesn't attend.-Academics are way behind. We were told by the Principal that the real "bread and butter" of this school is the 2-4 year old PreK and the International students they get from African missionary programs. This has to be why the academics are so behind in comparison to other private school curriculum.-Accreditation-It states on their website and brochure they are accredited by 2 different organizations academically. When we tried to report our issues with the school to these organizations, we were told Texas Christian School is not listed as an academically accredited school with them.In summary, if you are related or friends of someone at the school, this might work for you. If not, be very careful.

Beth Bashinski (owner and principal) doesn't care about the students. She yells at them and only wants your money. She shuffles the kids who are falling behind on because she doesn't want to seem like a failure. Leading to her failing the children. She's petty and vindictive. All of the teachers except her are leaving the school and not returning in the fall of 2017. If you care about your children at all don't take them here.

I have 3 boys who attend the school - infant, 1st and 3rd. They love it and so do I. They will graduate from TCS because not only is education and character development important to me but mostly being immersed in a Christian community with Christian teachers and families. We love being a TCS Tiger!!!

Run away! I had the great displeasure of experiencing this school K-6th grade. It was a HELLHOLE of a school. I will only post one incident, the one that was the turning point for my Mother. As my biggest memory scarred me for life. I do not feel safe mentioning.. In fifth grade, I tried out for cheer, but didn't make it. I was a gymnast for years. But, politics.... You will see that if you dare put your child through this hell. Anyways. No problem, I got over it. Down the line a bit, the cheer team had an overnight away game. The cheerleaders all got caught making out and hooking up. Come Monday, I get pulled into the office for questioning. They asked me if i was "spreading deceitful lies", and asked if "I knew what happened to lying sinners" (inferring that I would go to hell)....... I insisted that I had no clue what transpired over the trip, which at the time I hadn't a clue. My mother was called AFTER the questioning. If you can imagine, livid was an understatement. They insisted that I was lying, and decimating the school name, threatening expulsion/extended suspension. Well, I guess God showed them their wrong doing, and they apologized, and tried to hug me. We finished the final months. And I was out of that hell for good. This place is ran off frat-mentality and is only after your money. There is no heart, no nurturing. Just money-grubbing, over zealous "leaders" that want to suck you dry.

Disappointed parent is wrong. There has been no teacher turn over . Most teachers retire after 20+ years of working there. My children were ahead when they left St. Thomas after 5th grade. My only regret is that the school doesn't go to a higher grade. I'm just grateful that my children had to chance to be a part of this wonder school
