I have been there with two groups and recently had request for a third. The bar tenders offered to make me, the dd, whatever drink I wanted (unleaded of course) for free. Everyone is cool, ""Hey pull up a seat, my name is"", I felt welcome. Sunny Day Tours recommends this as a fun low cost…

My husband and I had dinner here on Valentine's Day and had a fantastic experience. They had a five-course Valentine's Day special with very different and exotic foods. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, and I didn't know if my meat-and-potatoes-loving husband would like anything, but we we…

You won't find a better $10-15 meal in Houston (and that's not factoring in the central location, intimate setting, never having to wait for a table, and the friendliness of guy-who-I-assume-is-Fabio).

I went in on a Friday night and it was slam packed! I was very surprised at how friendly and efficient the staff were with it being so busy! There was live music, a huge patio, and not to mention surprisingly good food! There was a big group of us so i figured the tab would be huge, we were a…

I love this place, it is a common place to eat for my husband and I after church at Second Baptist on Saturday's. They have excellent salads and my husband loves the spinach enchiladas with chicken. I have enjoyed almost everything I have tried there except for the hashbrowns. I have ordered …

Since discovering Petrol less than a year ago, my boyfriend and I have slowly been trying to ingrain ourselves into the cozy set of regulars. Just this past week, when we were offered a free pint of oatmeal stout just because we, as stout lovers, ""had to try it!"" I think we accomplished that g…

Casual attire, the food is excellent, although we were only there at lunch, I'd say it is a hopping place to go to. There are outside tables which had umbrellas on them for daytime shade. You don't have to wait for someone to seat you, you go up to the bar and order your food then they bring i…

Nice place! Definitely good for watching sports. Great music playing with an excellent selection of beer. It's definitely a place worth checking out. High quality food for a bar with the menu created by the chef at Artisans. Everything was made from scratch, even the chips.. excited to try thi…

I love hamburgers. I will pay a lot for a good burger. A good burger must have a hand-pressed patty and it must have a fresh baked bun because that is 50% of the experience. That is what you will find at the JunkYard. It is clean and nice, and they have live music on Friday and Saturday, to make…

The menu is short, but that is not a problem if you are looking for seafood or steak. Both are excellent and good sized portions. Excellent bread, too. It's kind of out of the way, but worth the trip.

This place has been near my house as long as Ive been out here. My bro and I decided we should go.(he's gone before)IBeing an open-minded person, I was like ""okay why not?"", I came in and it reminded me a little bit of wolfies. I ordered a bacon burger with fries and a drink. I was clueless wh…

Great food & friendly staff. Something for everyone with their pool tables, dartboards, shuffleboard & karaoke. Even have a private banquet room for your Holliday party's. Not to mention a great place to have lunch or dinner. Not your typical bar food.

Some sports fans like to rock up to a bar and cheer on their team. Others live for the traditions: tailgating, party-hosting, and dressing head-to-toe in fan apparel. Here are so…
I have been coming here for a while and I can understand the changes Mac has made...the atmosphere is still cool - drinks a little over priced but it depends on the night and your bartender but lately the DJ SUCKS!!! We went to the spot just last night (Sept 1st/2nd - Labor Day Weekend) and for the 1st time noticed the sign outside read "Where the best DJs play" (or something like that) - FALSE!!! I woulda bet money Mr DJ was from LA (even tho I found out later he's from The H) - we had to listen to 2 full (45 min) sets of "Louisiana Bounce" within 3 hours- and the old stuff at that!!! When he did bring it back to what is jamming today it was the same few top 10 songs - I was frustrated because I come to dance & was ready to have a good time last night but Mr DJ was not on it (again)...the only reason for my review is because same DJ has been there the last few visits and since there really is nowhere else to go on the Northside -I guess I am hoping this issue will be address I like this spot - been going since it was Bronzelle's (with the pole, full wall of mirrors, pool table & 1 toilet for the ladies) but bottom line I only go out for 2 reasons - the Dancing and the Drinks - and Mac Bar is not doing it!!! Word to ALL - Proceed with low expectations!
I went to this place for the first time Valentine's Eve. It was around 7:00 p.m. and the place was dead. There were only two other tables occupied. Our waitress was rather rough around the edges and asked my friend, "what's the problem"? when he stopped her to order a drink. We had a coupon that we couldn't use b/c we had "drinks with the food" and the coupon was for food only. Now, getting to the food....We ordered the Otis pizza and garlic bread. Six small pieces of bread was nothing memorable and the pizza was six slices of very, very thin crust for $ 22.00. Wow, the taste was nothing to write home about, it was like what anyone can make @ home. Needless to say....I don't have to go back!
I love the grown folk atmosphere, the food and the drinks! I do think a $10 cover charge is a bit much for what I consider a neighboorhood bar. I can remember when there was no cover charge. I do understand a cover charge on Sunday for the Live Music, because I know the band has to be compensated. With most drinks at $10 and the cover charge, I think you keep alot of people who would come more often from coming. I know it keeps myself, my husband and friends and their companions from coming as much as we would like to. I heard this from many other people. I'm just saying...... Thanks
This is the first time that I write a review about a restaurant. I went there yesterday during lunch . The food was excellent . I ordered from lunch menu where they have several plates under 9.95 for an entree and 2 side orders including seafood.i don't think you can beat the price and the taste of the food. I never tasted a Mediterranean food in Houston like this . With respect to all other Mediterranean restaurants , all their food taste the same . I really love the food and can't wait to go back again . Our waitress Nour was excellent .
I love hamburgers. I will pay a lot for a good burger. A good burger must have a hand-pressed patty and it must have a fresh baked bun because that is 50% of the experience. That is what you will find at the JunkYard. It is clean and nice, and they have live music on Friday and Saturday, to make it even better. So make it a great weekend and grab a burger at the Junkyard. (no I don't own the place) and I have only been there twice but I am going tonignt!
Chicago Bar and Grill has a smooth atmosphere coupled with great food and outstanding service. I've never had a bad meal there or even a 'just OK' experience. Definitely try the drink assortment and their fine entrees. Their desserts are yummy too. A cold long island iced tea and a flame broiled chicago bulls burger with double meat, bacon and swiss are perfect complements to the lovely staff and atmosphere.
Casual attire, the food is excellent, although we were only there at lunch, I'd say it is a hopping place to go to. There are outside tables which had umbrellas on them for daytime shade. You don't have to wait for someone to seat you, you go up to the bar and order your food then they bring it to your table. The staff is courteous and the service is prompt. We ate their buffalo burger and its awesome.
My best Friend Misti planned her 40th something birthday party here 2weeks ago..We were very pleased and impressed from the time we walked in..Our reserved area was served by a private waitress. Never had to look for her.The Food was served nice and neat and honestly good..Its a grown person atmosphere..To sum it up it was well worth the drive and making plans to go again.. Yolanda G....
Recommend restaurant for lunch or dining, I was there; they have very tasty Mediterranean food, outdoor and indoor romantic atmosphere. It's a great restaurant and bar for couples to lunch or dine then sit at the bar. I paid $15, and they served with a large plate of rice, chicken kabob and beef kabob, oh it was tasty, I am going back there soon. I liked it and I recommend it. Go there.
I don't know why the negative comments. I went at lunch and they were very busy. Still, the staff were attentive and made informed recommendations. We had alligator appetizer and it wasn't as good as at Poppa death's it was still good. The gumbo was good as well as the fried seafood. Bypass the stuffed potato though.
