This guy really helped me during the mid-1980s while I was an undergraduate student on the rugby club at a local university. He stressed exercise and maintaining a healthy weight. I still use the exercises, not as often as I should, and thanks to his simple but thourough explanation of what was going on in my lower back I am more adept at recognizing the warning signs (that my back is getting worse and that I'd better slow down and take action). When I had insurance, he got paid but when I didn't, he treated me anyway. I haven't seen him in 20 years, at least, but I remember him as a good friend, dedicated to alleviating pain and promoting wellness.
