We recently had a party for our son's 21st birthday. Let me begin by saying how remarkable of an event it was due to the quality of the food and the excellent service provided by the staff. Neither our son nor his friends had ever been there, and to their amazement and enjoyment were the breathtaking views and Zen-like grounds. First off, the food we ate. The steak was prepared exactly as we ordered, medium. Not under-cooked, nor well done, it was just right. As for the seafood, the tempura was not flat and soggy as some restaurants do, nor was it under/over cooked. Multiple dishes of sashimi and sushi were delivered and "wow" how fresh and delicious it all was. There were many many more dishes, but the steak and seafood were what this occasion called for and we had nothing but a great meal. On top of that, if you choose to you can bring your own alcohol you may do so - BYOB! Most importantly - the team of Natsunoya delivered big time and I appreciate the Fujiwara family for making it all possible and for an incredible evening. You can check out their website for more information about their room rentals, but you should go in person as it doesn't fully show you what you're in for should you want to have a party there. We'll be back for sure - Warren
The decor and ambiance were inviting and a great blend of traditional and modern Japanese. It's traditional in it's feel, size (VERY quaint/small) and layout but modern in it's decor. The presentation the same, traditionally artful in modern stoneware. It's the closest thing to fine dining food in served Japan I've found here locally. The fish was the freshest I've ever experienced and the tempura was unequalled! The rest of the menu is equally impressive. I sampled a great many and none of them dissapointed. In fact most were incredible! The only thing keeping this from being the ultimate Japanese dining experience was the slow service. The servers were extremely polite and as attentive as they could as the place filled up quickly and was abuzz but there were only two of them and the wait time bordered on aggrevating. You really have to look for this one because blink and you'll miss it. Also parking is an issue on Kapahulu so if you can taxi or walk it it would be better. I highly recommend this one as a must visit. I guarantee you'll fall in love with the food but be prepared to wait for it. It's not cheap either but definately worth every penny!

Me & my family had the pleasure to dined at Iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant. Noise level was a little high, but, God! I love the liveliness and the energy the room feels. Special "Thank you" to all of the Chefs in the kitchen, and Managers on the floor for making my dining experience so memorable. Hanaho
This place is amazing! Found it on yp! I went there for my birthday and by far the best sushi/sashimi and most authentic sushi bar I've been to on Oahu. The sushi melts in your mouth...you must try the otoro! The sushi chef is amazing!! He has the best advice for sake selection, because he is a sake lover. Reservations highly recommended since the place only seats 11. Lastly, japanese speaking helps when you order or you'll have to wait for the waitress. Overall this place is a 6 stars out of 5. The service great, but the food is amazing!
We went for the special happy hour between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday and Monday where most things on the menu are half price. We went thirty minutes early and were almost the last people let in. It is true as stated in another review that it is first come first served and the line starts building an hour before they let people in. They cut off letting people in as soon as it's full until 6:00. I can say it was some of the best sushi we have ever had and we will Be back (earlier next time) to try out more.
This place is totally awesome!!! Never again will I be ordering plain Spam Musubi whenever I am in Oahu. This place takes making Musubis way up another level!!! You get excited just looking at the menu. So many variations to try, yet so little time during our one week stay. My whole family loves this place!!!
Discovered this place last year while vacationing with my wife. Took the kids with us this year, and has been a family hit since. The thicker milky broth in my opinion is better than the shoyu version. The thick pork slices that comes with the ramen is still dancing in my head...
drove from wahiawa tryin to catch happy hour but cant cause policy wont let us. once the restaurant is full they wont take anybody else till happy hour is done. BULLSH**! staff was pretty fiendly for the most part. dont know about the food cause WE COULDNT GO IN!
awesome food. everythin we ordered tasted great! needs improvement in describing a dish. (state if the fish is raw or cooked). HUGE downfall, my wife had a salad with some type of shrimp shell.....but her dish DID NOT have any shrimp.
This place rocks! The rolls were delicious however the fact that they serve multiple personal orders on one plate makes it confusing when eating in groups. Try the Echigo beer...great beer and goes well with the food!
