What A Place To Be.....

Indigo, Wow - so many good things to say about them, where do i start? ok well as soon as you walk in the front walk way it tells the story about old Hawaii. Indigo was one of the very 1st buildings built in Chain town, so if that doesn`t wet your lips the drinks well,... there amazing atmosphere of 4 rooms well, yes 3 bars and a huge dinning room indoor and outside, see if you can find that anywhere in chain town? No just indigo.. starting with the Lanai bar "the out side bar" for business people great place to have lunch meetings and maybe one of there World Class Martini, And for you kids at H.P.U saving money go to INDIGO at 4:30pm 8pm they have complementary buffet with $4. Drinks... wow cant bet that, at night around 9pm they open up two more rooms with DJs .. so then it turns in to a club, thats Cool,

A, 5-star place with a club hidden somewhere inside and looking people inside staff and guess alike,

And dont forget there 1st Fridays, A must, for every 1st friday... get there early it gets packed...

WEDDING CATERING - Terrible Customer Service

Indigo was referred to us to be the caterer for our wedding. We contacted Greg of Indigo and told him that we're on a tight budget. He sent us a quote right away which we appreciated. We sent him back our comments, asking if it was possible to cut down the cost per person and to cut back on services (wait staff, chefs, bartender). We've never been married before so we didn't have any ideas about whether our suggestions were realistic, but we were ONLY ASKING. I guess we may have hurt Greg's ego because he never contacted us again, despite us reassuring him (in numerous subsequent emails) that we'd love to work with him and we're simply trying to find ways to fit Indigo in our budget. I finally called Greg and he did not seem excited to talk to me. I had the impression that he simply wished we'd just go away - our wedding was small (75 to 80 people) and it was not going to be worth his time. Greg sounded arrogant and condescending on the phone. He would say things like SO YOU DIDN'T WANT INDIGO TO HANDLE THIS, HOW DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO DO THAT YOURSELVES??? He was really annoying. It took a lot to keep myself from hanging up on him. As a professional, I know that that's not how you should conduct your business. He's in an industry where he's going to come across brides, like me, who are trying to find ways to cut back on wedding costs. He should understand that it's nothing against Indigo. I think he shouldn't take offense to someone merely inquiring about how to cut back on their catering bill. I guess a bride with an unlimited budget might fare better with Greg! For our upcoming wedding on Oahu, we're now considering Cater to Me and Ginniberries. They are great and care about large AND SMALL weddings.

What a place!

I've been to Indigo twice on my travels to Oahu. Such a great place! Like a tropical retreat in the middle of Chinatown. On the last trip my husband and I'd just ate dim sum so we headed to Indigo one afternoon for lava flows and dessert! Mmmm! The lava flows were delicious! My hubbie had a mango sorbet and I had the generously portioned ginger creme brulee. It was just the sweet treat we needed before heading back to Waikiki after a day of shopping and sightseeing. Sit outside and soak up the ambience. Two thumbs up even though the guy at the front ignored us for about 5 minutes while he talked on the phone!! Talk about unprofessional! A server had to come seat us...

Less Than It Could Be

Indigo is great on so many levels - incredible atmosphere, chic clientele, great wine tastings and funky music... BUT, the one area it's sub-par is the most important: the food. I've eaten there at least 4 or 5 times now and continue to be unimpressed. It's not bad per se, it's just so... ordinary. Anything Indigo does can be found elsewhere in Honolulu done much, much better. A bit too pricey for what you get.

A little something for everybody!

This restaurant truly impresses with its variety--from the wine tastings to the special Arabian nights events to the bar/""club"" area. The things that remain consistent--great food, great service, great setting. Keep up the good work! I've been here on more than one occasion, and I recommend it for anybody looking for a special evening. I hope that this restaurant encourages more nightlife to open up in the downtown area--and if you combine this restaurant with the First Friday Gallery Hop (5-9pm), you've got a great evening for a date!

Go 2 Indigo

the outdoor seeating, waitresses dressed in sultry chinese print dresses, the sounds of the rock fountain in the background and the most phenomenal pan seared fish pacific fish i've ever tasted make this by far the best of the waikiki area restaurants that i've sampled. This rare combination of a full dining experience that is romantic, worth your money and delectable is a must dine! There's even a little ""green room"" with a bar for drinks afterwards.

Good Food, Exotic Atmosphere

We found the atmosphere exotic and romantic; something akin to French Colonial days. Three of us shared three appetizers and two entrees, and were quite impressed overall. Of our 3 appetizers (Lobster Potstickers, Thousand Loved Crab Cakes, and Lemon Grass Chicken Brochettes), only the latter one lacked flavor. The Thousand Loved Crab Cakes were out of this world. We chose the Grilled Shrimp with Thai Macadamia Nut Pesto, and Black Mustard & Pepper Crusted Ahi Steak as our entrees. The latter came with 3 sauces; pesto, sundried tomato, and olive tapenade. We loved both entrees, but slightly preferred the shrimp. Service was wonderful. We'll be back.
