I've rented from Alamo in Honolulu for all the times that my family has visited Hawaii and our experience have all been very positive. The staff at the counter will do their best to get you out to your rental at the earliest. Online Check-in is highly recommended to eliminate waiting in line. The cars are in excellent shape.

This location has always been a good place to rent from. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Good selection of vehicles and now with their on-line registration you can literally hop off the bus and into your car.

I had to wait 45 min for a shuttle when I arrived. The first one was full and there were shuttles for all other companies coming every few min. That was frustrating. I only had 2 cars to choose from. The online check in was great and the express checkout was also convenient.

The personnel at Alamo make all the difference in the world. IMO, they are the most accommodating, the cars are reliable, and the shuttle service is easy and frequent. You can't go wrong if you choose Alamo when visiting Oahu.

I actually received an email from Christine in their customer service notifying me I'd left an item in the rental, first time that's ever happened!! Even though it was only a Ziploc bag could you imagine if it was more important? Great service and follow up, I'll be using them all the time from now on.

True test of a company is how employees react and how service is conducted when their computer goes down. This was the case when I picked up my reserved rental car on 2/27/16. Everything from the service, agents and the vehicle were 5 star rated in my opinion.

Great service all around! The shuttle picked me up promptly from the airport and the driver was pleasant and informative about what to do while on Oahu. I opted to use self check in, so when I arrived at the Alamo office all I had to do was go to the lot, pick a car, then show my paperwork at the kiosk as I was driving off. When returning the car all I had to do was park the car, I then immediately got back n the shuttle and headed back to the airport. The whole process was quick and easy, it is the reason why I will only rent with Alamo.

Excellent service. I got a car that had the low tire light on. I returned after picking up my husband and they gave me two options - fill the tires and see or change out the car. I chose the former and then found the tire lower the next morning. Came back, quickly and easily changed it out for a much better car. The only thing you have to deal with at Alamo is that it is the longest distance from the airport until the new car rental location is done so it takes a while for the shuttle to get there. However, the location is easy to come back to for drop-offs, etc. Excellent service. Personal served us with much aloha.

Elxcellent service. Ticket agent very helpfull and very pleasent. Car (new Honda Civic was new and very nice after poor higher end car from another company on the Big Island. We arrived on the tail of last years hurricane and it was pouring. Return was efficient and again friendly. I hope to use them again when I come back next year.

It was really hard to find a good price on rental cars but I had found Hawaii discount rental car and they booked me with Alamo.Alamo gave me quick service and I also upgraded to an 8 passenger for a reasonable price.thanks Alamo and Hawaii discount rental car.you made our trip 10x better

BE AWARE!!!! Visitors and Military, be very careful when using the kiosk when registering for your car. I have had many tack-ons such as insurance, roadside assistance, and extra milage I did not agree to. You have to scan the contract to verify no unauthorized tack ons have been included.

Lu made me smile

Ok... We arrived at Alamo and the woman at the counter (African-American) was not only unfriendly but bossy/pushy. I refused a "add-on" service at least 5 times! She wouldn't smile and was clearly not wanting to be at work.
Next, we walked to grab our car and was greated w/ a huge Aloha & smile from Lu!! Love her! You need to clone her and put her at the check in counter. Just sayin'

Don't rent from this branch

This particular branch of Alamo gave me incorrect information about billing, charges, and payment every single time I spoke to them. My rental was for 3 months and I was going to extend it for a total of 8 months. Instead I returned it early.

They made no attempt to review my account or understand what I was explaining to them. Instead they repeatedly left me messages about my account being past due even after I had gone in person to the location to settle the situation and was told everything was square.

Their customer service consists of a manager disconcertingly smiling through a very upsetting exchange and then wishing you a good day after hours of not addressing any of the issues presented to them.
