Established in 1935, Alcoholics Anonymous World Services Inc. is a self-support and rehabilitative organization for alcohol addicts. Based in Homer, Alaska, it conducts meetings for alcoholics that desire to get rid from the addiction. The meetings involve discussions, sharing of personal experiences between ex-drinkers and new members who are battling drinking problems. The organization is managed by self-appointed workers and any funding, if required, comes from voluntary contribution. Alcoholics Anonymous World Services Inc. is headed by a custodial management, called the General Service Board of Alcoholics Anonymous, which assumes responsibility of maintaining tradition and overall service.
