The Wackenhut Corrections Corporation is part of the GEO Group, which designs, constructs, finances and manages jails, state and federal prisons, special-purpose institutions, and immigration and detention centers. It also develops and manages medical and mental health rehabilitation facilities and services, such as those focused on education, substance abuse, counseling and work programs and community corrections services. The Wackenhut Corrections services include the management of a spectrum of facilities, such as male and female adult, juvenile, community corrections, work programs, prison industries, substance abuse treatment, and mental health, geriatric and other special needs institutions. Other management contracts include psychiatric health care, electronic home monitoring, prisoner transportation, correctional health services and facility maintenance.
