Poor service and the food was just okay-small portions and disappointing
River Rock is our new favorite place within the Clarkston area. We love the atmosphereand the friendly service, but more importantly the food is awesome. Give it a try!!!
The previous reviewer had valid points HOWEVER, we have been there three times so my take will give a broader view. Barrel alley burger is to die for. The appetizers bruchetta, (available all three times we went) the artichoke dip, lovely. To be honest I wasn't expecting g the food to be as high caliber as it was. The mastic utinsiles threw me as well. They make a wonderful Grey Goose dry martini. The staff is very friendly. In fact I was just looking up their # to order the Battle Alley burger for lunch when I saw the other review and wanted everyone to know they had a negative experience as I definitely did not. I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so. Oh they use Boursin Cheese in many dishes and the combinations are spectacular.
We thought we' come here to support a new place in town. Cozy interior, exposed brick, a couple of tvs. We stood at the door for a minute and someone greeted us and walked away. We finally realized it was seat yourself. Abut 10 bar seats and maybe 10 small tables in the place. Good selection of bottled beers, 5 or 6 domestic tap beers. They have a huge chalkboard listing all their bottled beers but it is at the back of the bar and cannot be viewed unless you go to the back and look at it. Menu is limited. We wanted bruschetta for appetizer and I was going to get turkey reuben but the waitress informed us they were out of both along with another menu item. Really? The menu shows brats but in the description they crossed out the "2" brats and wrote in "1" brat and my husband didn't think it would fill him up, especially for the price. We also noticed they crossed out the "64 oz" on the menu for pitchers and wrote in "52 ounce". At $13.50 for a 52 ounce pitcher of Miller Light, we passed. We ordered cheese sticks only and they came with cold solid centers. The place was not busy and they have a small grill located inside the bar area where they cooked everything,kinda weird t see someone flipping burgers and deep frying behind a bar. Also, they gave us plastic utensils and disposable snack plates to eat from. We won't be back, it was disappointing.
My husband and I decided to try it out after seeing an advertisement at the movies. We just loved it. friendly staff, great atmosphere, and delicious food. We are spreading the word and will definitely return.

Eat there Sat. night -no wait and the patio was beautiful . Our waitress was a nice young woman that was well trained. Can't wait to have the ribeye again. And my husband had the fish and chips, that he said was perfect. We will be back.
I had a wonderful experiance. The waitress was so nice and friendly. The food was amazing. It was wonderul. I highly reccomend this place and will be back!!
Went on memorial day for burger's with the couple we golfed with that day, this was not our first visit. I told them how good their burgers were...well they served 3 of the 4 of us our meals and made one of our party wait for her burger. I ordered the bleu cheese burger (which I've had before and loved) when it came there was bareley any cheese on it and when I complained was offered a side of cheese....when they finally brought my friend her burger it looked like a kiddy burger or slider, we asked the waitress what it was and if it looked like a regular burger to her she answered no but she was told to bring it out anyway. And my burger which I ordered medium, was beyond well done. Obviously the cooks don't care about their customers or servers.
Save your time and money and go to Joe Bologna's or Kruse and Muer, or even Big Boy. The salad consisted of about ten leaves of lettuce if that and dressing. When we saw the lack of selection and price of entrees, we said, "They don't have much, so they must be really good at what they do make"... No. To top it off, the older man with an accent, who I assume is the owner was actually snapping his fingers and pointing at things telling the girls what to do. To sum it up, this restaurant is pretty to look at, but over-priced, has a very limited menu, the staff seems to be treated like slaves, and the food isn't very good at all. They DO have a decent selection of beers, if that's the only thing you're looking for, but so do most bars.
