What a find! They are a snall cafe and local art gallery in East West Asheville that serves breakfast and lunch. We each had a sandwich and a side. Mine the "The Michealangelo" was an Italian grinder that was just to big to finish. Piles of meat and veggies! Great combo of flavors. My friend had the "El Grecco" a turkey, spinach, feta, tomato and olive wrap pressed on a panini grill. I was not allowed to even have a bite as he said it was just "too good" . Our sides were homemade potato salad and Mom's cole slaw. Both just amazing. The service was very friendly and attentive. A very relaxed atomsphere as well. The gallery section is made up of all local artist and the prices are very reasonable. I even picked up a birthday gift and earrings for under $20. If you are in the area stop by you will not be dissappointed. I know we will be back. We will try breakfast next time. Which they serve all day.
444 Gallery Cafe has become one of my all time favorite restaurants in Asheville. The food is consistent, simple osteria food. I often order the appetizing Michelangelo (Italian Grinder) specialty sandwich, though anyone of their fresh grilled Panini sandwiches with a side of potato salad are also especially yummy. The cafe is very relaxed and a wonderful place to meet friends or for business meetings. I actually, got to host an after hours business meeting that 444 Gallery Cafe catered - the staff at Gallery Cafe really did a great job to ensure my meeting was a huge success. Everyone who attended the meeting raved about the food, dessert and coffee choices. The cafe also has a large parking lot, that made parking easy and safe. I can't wait to eat there again, and certainly recommend Gallery Cafe for breakfast, lunch or special event catering.
Sunrise Cafe has all the requirements of a great place to eat: clean and inviting environment, friendly and fast service, excellent prices, and exceptionally good food. We live about an hour from Asheville but we eat here as often as we can. Everything I've had is really good and perfectly prepared. Some of my breakfast favorites are their seasoned potatoes, made to order omelets (spinach and mushroom, yum), and fresh fruit cup (available any time). The coffee is always fresh and delicious and they keep your cup filled. Their french fries are perfect, and I don't usually eat fries. Wraps and Greek salads are excellent, and Black Bear pizza, well, let me say they really know how to do pizza! You should try this place if you like home style cooking and good value!
I attended a private function at The Fireplace on Sunday for my husband's co-worker's son's graduation and go party. The meal was fabulous. I had just eaten a favorite, 12 Bones on Saturday. This place is no 12 Bones but the food was just as good in a different way- like apples and oranges. The BBQ ribs reminded me of my grandfather's ribs. They were tender and no extra sauce was needed. The potato salad and the coleslaw were pretty tasty as well. If I had an event to plan and wanted a surefire down home meal, I would not hesitate to give them a call. Well, whether I need catering or not, I will be sure to return for the good food, friendly service, and nice rustic ambience.
Another one of Asheville's family friendly places to visit. The menu itself is Americana and even offers breakfast all day long. As someone who could eat breakfast three times a day, this earns major points with me. And the breakfast menu is pretty darned good. All three of my kids (6, 10, 12) have their favorites and for once they all agree. When we take them they either get the chicken strips or the chocolate chip pancakes. We typically visit at the lunch hour and we have yet to have to wait for seating no matter how crowded they are. I imagine that Sunday at lunch might be a different story
Just found this place this morning, great for breakfast all day or for a gourmet sub. Very inventive idea, the place is a local arts, crafts and gift gallery with a comy little couch area to relax in or use thier free wi-fi. The subs are huge and made with local ingredients. I had the 1/2 soup and sandwich deal, and what a deal, I got a full bowl of chicken soup and half a chicken salad sandwich on wheat for only $5.95. I also got a slice of thier hummingbird cake, OMG it was good and only $3.95 for a slice. Coming back soon.
Sunny Point Cafe knows how to make a biscuit! Be prepared for a lengthy wait (we have a party of 6 and waited 90 minutes), but they warn you in advance that it'll take a while. While waiting, there is coffee and water available as well as live music and a garden to walk through. This made the wait much more bearable. Once we got seated, the food was well worth it! When a restaurant does breakfast right, people take notice. I would absolutely recommend if you're not on a tight schedule!
Visiting Asheville over the weekend for the tenth time or so, and after leaving the Biltmore, saw a sign lit up for this place.. figured we would give it a shot. Walked in, beautiful woodwork, fireplace going in the middle of the dining room. Our server knew every detail about the menu. Our food was amazing... to get steaks that you can cut with a fork, and fish that seemed to come off the boat an hour ago..... I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
You could not ask for more knowledgable (or beautufiul) bartenders than Megan and Sara at the Bier Garden. Explaining hop content, recommending personal favorites and overall entertainment kept me there for hours and hours. The food was exceptional (I had the Thai Peanut wings) and the beer selection is the best in Asheville. Thanks ladies and thank you Bier Garden; I will be back back the end of October!
The place has done a complete change! Food is great, the bar is huge, with all sporting events, karaoke on Thursday's, Live Local Music on Tuesdays, among other great features that make this franchise restaurant stand out among others. Definitely give it a try if you're right off the exit toward Biltmore!
