We arrived at a good "off" time on New Years Day, about 4:30. We were seated immediately and the waiter asked for our drink order right away and we ordered a Bloomin onion. We waited and waited. Went through a round of soft drinks and no onion showed up and neither did the bread. They finally brought the onion out with the salads about 20 minutes after we ordered and the place was not crowded at all. Many of my party sat with empty glasses. The waiter must've been new, or in the wrong occupation for sure. I ordered the Outback Special Sirloin medium rare. It came in about a 3" round mound that should've been butterflied and was barely cooked because of it. They took it back and when I received it again, it was cooked perfectly. One thing I've noticed about most steak houses is that they are just not seasoned well enough for my tastes, and this was the case for mine (and my husband's) steak. All 6 dinners came out at different times. My husband's was a strip ($24.99) and he said it was the worst steak he had actually had and wasn't happy at all. When the waiter brought his, he had not brought the right potato and when he told the waiter it was wrong the waiter took the plate away. I thought this was probably due to lack of experience. I watched as the waiter placed the plate in a tray by the kitchen doors next to pitchers of water and scoot it by the wall. I called out to him to bring it back and suggested he leave the steak here and bring him a new potato. He insisted on taking the potato and he ended up using a bread plate only instead of placing the potato on it and leaving the steak on the large plate, he did the opposite. After what seemed a very long time, he was brought out a new potato on a small plate. So the strip which was fairly large was on a dinky little plate, thus making it hard to cut, especially since the meat seemed to me to just be a pretty bad cut of meat. There was an unusually large vein of very tough fat/gristle along the inside quarter. He wasn't able to even cut through this very well and it made about half the steak un-eatable. Drinks sat empty and we had to ask the manager for bread. All in all it was a 2 hour experience that really should have been 1 hour. The manager ended up comping my husband's steak, which they should've. The unexperienced waiter I would say in this case made our dining experience the worst though. I would have to recommend not eating at this Outback.
OMG!! This is the best place for casual burgers or wings and a beer you can get on Hilton Head. I have been dining there for over 30 years and it has ALWAYS been good food and service and the best thing is the shopping right after is right there. I would highly recommend you eat here if you get a chance and it is very casual. The best kept secret in Hilton Head!!
Great entertainment!! good food, too salty just for my taste.Service extremely bad. Mixed up orders, ran out of gumbo and didn't even bother to tell the 3 people in our group who ordered it. Served it (after being asked about it when other food delivered) an hour late. We ask hostess, and a few other people for our checks, waiting at least 45 minutes.
This is FIRST CLASS all the way. I use to hostess there over 30 years ago, but recently dined there and the service and food have not changed. It is still very classy and awesome seafood on weekends. It is pricey but is so worth it. Ask for a window view so you can see the ocean and go when it is still dusk or daylight.
I had the pleasure of dining in at ruby Lee's Jan 17, 2016. The experience was phenomenal. The food was great and omg Patty was the absolute best from the time she walked in the door. Also it was a pleasure talking to Mrs Deborah the Owner and learning the history behind this great restaurant. I will indeed visit again.
We just stumbled across this place, and are glad we did. We will definitely go back when in HHI. We had a large group, and everyone was very happy with their choices. I personally would recommend the chicken tacos, but heard the fish tacos are good too.
My family and I are here during our vacation and were amazed! Kirstin our waitress was a perfect blend of spunky and helpful. this place had the best and biggest scallops we had ever had. All of us enjoyed it so much we went back two nights later.
I enjoyed the food here and waitress was very pollite. The food was fairly good as well. Environment was nice and the prices were really good. I will return seems like a nice place to take my grand kids.
Food and service was great! Everything was going great until my wife went into the bathroom and saw rodent feces after a lady had just cleaned it. That totally ruined the experience.
grilled salmon is really good and the service is nice, but when I take the bread away, it costs me $8. I mean lots of restaurants serve bread for free. It's really disappointed!
