Dr. Kalua, Kelly, and the staff provide my family and me with excellent care. They have always been polite and professional. Dr. Kalua spends a good amount of time getting to know her patients, listens a lot, and takes copious notes during examinations. She also consults with the patient and family about any medication and treatment decisions. The office is clean with fairly modern equipment and even has a three legged therapy dog. The only downside I've ever had in my experience with this office is that it seems to be difficult to get them to refer someone for other types of treatment (e.g. physical therapy, mental health issues). They're a relatively new office, so hopefully it's just a matter of getting their contacts sorted and systems in place.
Unprofessional, Uncompassionate.Establishment needs to be trained in Customer Service! No Customers/Patients No Job! Patients are human & deserve health care regardless of what kind of health insurance one has! Treat others as you would want to be treated or your loved ones.
DON'T GO!! Taking my ohana member age 87 to this clinic the bots (not humans) working there called "locals" in Hilo, HI after we drove for two hours from Kona were UNPROFESSIONAL, nasty & incompetent!! The Urologist that flew over from Oahu looked like a "deer caught in the head lights!" after the BIGGEST "local" working there tired & FAILED to toss out my ohana's transport chair almost scrapped me? Don't go to this NASTY office. We encountered RACISM at it's WORST. We were NOT late but the "local" would NOT give me her name nor the name of the other one who discrii-HATED my ohana and myself. Her exact words ONCE the patients were gone were charging at me in a threatening way: "YOU ARE NOT A PATIENT HERE! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! my ohana IS a patient (another doctor) from Aloha Urology that fly over to the Big Island of HI. SHAMEFUL! RACISM is there! The Security Guard summon the HI Police it was that bad! No Aloha spirit. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
