06/01/2018: I had another session with Lyn and it was very pleasant. Lyn explained the miscommunication and I was pleased.05/29/2018: I have been hesitating on writing this review for the past few days because I couldn't bring myself to give a low rating. So, I self-consciously avoided it instead. However, I decided today is the day and it is something that I have to bring myself to do. Lyn, the moderately new business owner and hair stylist of Ritual Hair Design, is a wonderful, honest, and charismatic person. Her knowledge of hair is exquisite and when you meet her in-person, it is clearly obviously she has been in this area of business for many, many years. When my hair was under her care, it was treated with the utmost professional craftsmanship that I've ever experienced so far, and I felt extremely comfortable with every step of the process. She made some small-talk as most hair stylists do at hair salons and it was smoothing while my hair was getting bleached with a multitude of supposedly skin-irritating chemicals. To keep it short, the service done on my hair handled by Lyn was excellent. Now comes the 2 missing stars where I vent out my frustration with the "business part" my experience. The week before my appointment with Lyn, I called in for the first-time to ask questions about the process of getting my hair done and getting an estimated quote on how much it would cost in total. Over the phone call, Lyn told me it would be $60, but she wasn't too sure and asked me to come in on that same day to get an in-person consultation. When we met in-person, she went over in great details of what would happen and how it would happen and how long it would take. In the end, before she gave me her business card for her contact number and our future appointment date, I asked her how much it would all cost. She told me it would be $110. With that, I happily look forward to the upcoming appointment... And fast forward to the day of the appointment, after ~2 hours and multitasking with other customers coming in, Lyn got my hair "half" done and told me to contact her soon to come in again to finish the entire process of my hair. I went up to the register to pay the bill, expecting $110 and footing a generous tip to end the day but was instead greeted with $120. No biggy, it's only a $10 difference and I didn't want to make a fuss about it as we ended the ordeal it with a happy note and there were other customers in the store sitting and waiting in the lobby. I waited a week to contact Lyn again as her store hours were short on the weekends and there was a holiday afterward. I called and spoke with an assistant of Lyn's to schedule another appointment to finish my hair. In the phone call, I was quoted that it will cost ~$70. At this point, I was extremely confused as I had thought the original thing was supposed to cost only $110 during our original consultation. I asked the assistant to explain why and I was given an answer, but a vague one at that.To end this review before I end up writing a full-length essay, the reason for the missing 2 stars is the unclear pricing of getting a service done. I was told multiple difference quotes and ended up with multiple different numbers. Honestly, I don't care about how high the price is, I care more about the honesty and the transparently of the whole ordeal and I did not receive that during my entire experience with Lyn at Ritual Hair Design.Overall, would I recommend this place to people looking to have their hair done professionally? Yes, absolutely. But just be warned, the quotes and consultation done by Lyn may not be said and done.

Used to live comung here. But ever since Nina & T left, getting appounmentsbis hard. Only one nail tech and my nails constantly fall off. Under new management it definitely went downhill FAST. Very sad.
Negative 5 stars.I got Lily.First, I sat on the chair and faced to the mirror. Then she changed the direction of chair that I could not see the mirror. What kind of stylist do that???Of course, she did not check the hair length of sides. Usually stylists use the mirror to check that.Second, she did not part the hair and started chopping my hair...Third, the picture I showed her, was made by big curl brush but she used straight hair iron.Fourth, she changed the chair angle and showed me only front. She did not show me the back that stylists do normally. My back hair was just CHOPPED!!!My hair style was completely different from the picture and I WAS SENT BACK TO THE EIGHTIES!!!The way of she treated me was not licensed hair stylist. I have never had such a hair stylist until her. It makes me wonder if she has even the license. There was a male stylist close to us, but obviously I was not facing the mirror and he did not seem to care about that.So it happens there normally, I guess.
Buyer beware. I had an awful experience at this salon. I had one tech start my pedicure then tell me another would finish because she needed to go do a manicure. I sat for 30 minutes waiting for my toes to be polished. When someone finally came she rushed through it. After the first nail I asked her if the polish was too thin to cover and she told me yes but it was too late to change it but that she would do extra coats. Needless to say there were patches of my nail not covered my polish, she left polish on my skin and left a small cut on the tip of my toe. I asked for the manager and it was her. She said she wouldn't give me a refund and that she had clients waiting and that our conversation was making her look bad. That I should call and we'll resolve it on the phone. I called and she hung up on me. When I called back she threatened to call the police on me for calling her back. Don't waste your money or time here
I'm gonna write the 5 stars review for this place .. because.. i just don't trust ANYWHERE else..I've had my moments of being spontaneous and trying other nail spots... and i ALWAYS REGRET it.I don't have a favorite nail tech, they all do a good job.. i love them all! =)
I love this place and have been coming here for years!! Buuuutttt, make sure you don't move if Tonya is doing your nails..... be a statue. If you can't maintain statue status, she might give up, throw her mask off and refuse to finish your nails. A little dramatic, if you ask me. As far as employment goes, I'd be fired. Seriously though, DO NOT MOVE. Made me laugh.
Main Street Beauty is a great place for hair and beauty needs for women and men - and kids, I've been going to Tina for 10 years and I have always been pleased with her skills. Prices are very reasonable. Everyone who works there is very nice as well.
Wonderful business in Hillsboro! Stylists are great - friendly, kind and flexible. They take walk-ins and have a diversity of clients. Main Street Hair Salon has a wide range of services for hair and nails. I have been going there for many years because of the quality and reasonable prices.
I received the best cut that I have gotten in years today from Melanie. It is exactly what I wanted!
Stefanie m. Is the best nail technician that place has! She knows her job well and puts cute nail designs on your nails. She treats you so sweet. She know her job well and it shows!
