Amazing food and atmosphere. Service not so good. Potato kegs and burgers are amazing. Convenient location.
Was introduced to Brown's at Hemisfair '68. Always the best enchiladas I ever had (enchiladas at the original La Fonda and from La Casita on Zarzamora st were also in contention. Mr. Brown passed on, his son took over and kept up the delicious heritage. Then he apparently sold the restaurant. Th…
The atmosphere is colourful and very pleasing, in a traditional Mexican style restaurant. The food is very good as well, yet a bit more expensive, in comparison to the other local Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. The service is very good.
11. La Unica Foods
The tamales for them to be made from a molino are very, very good! Most of the tamales that I have purchased from molinos you can tell that they are not handmade. Eventhough they advertsise that they are homemade but I can taste the diffrence. The Tamales from La Unica are homemade and are ve…
This is a small restaurant with a friendly attitude. The food is very good especially the carne guisada. The sea food plates are delicious. The part I like the most is the extreme friendliness of all the waitresses. They go beyond and give it that extra effort to make you feel at home. My favori…
I'm a regular customer, but I won't be any longer. The service was very poor and the attitude was very unprofessional. The food was not quite up to it's usual quality. The waitresses all assume that everyone speaks and understands Spanish. There are so many other places to dine.
Azuca is known for their happy hour...Mojitos, Capirihina's and Appetizers for under $3 dollars is a tasty steal. Plan on staying for dinner so you don't miss out on their delicious seafood dishes. Their specialty Feijoda.... it is out of this world.
21. Las Palmas
Was charged wrong. Ok no problem, WRONG! Waitress was rude snatched receipt out my hand. When asked for her name, said no, it was personal. When asked for owner/managers number she said NO. I told her I'm not going to sign until the error was corrected, she called the cook, who politely came out…
Their JJ's tamales location is horrible. We went Christmas morning because they were featured on the news. I called and they said they opened at 8. We got there after 9 and the place was still locked. When they opened they said it was a 15 minute wait on tamales. 45 minutes later they said they …
if you are out with friends drinking and nothing eles is open then you won't mind the food and service
I went here for lunch on a weekday.I ordered the rancheros enchiladas from the lunch menu. The enchiladas, rice and refried beans were excellent. I also had a homemade corn tortilla on the side. It was great. They brought out chips and 3 types of salsa. The salsas were ok. Not bad but not great. The chips were average. They appeared to be store bought. The sweet tea was good. The lunch menu items were only $5.99 and this included tea. Great value. Customer service was very good.I will go back.
I came here for lunch on a weekday. Friendly staff. I had the flautas lunch plate w/ sweet tea. It was very good. Prices were reasonable. The salsa was VERY good.I will go back.
Average.I came here for lunch on a weekday with a group of seven. We heard there’s not a lot of seating room and it gets crowded during lunch. They were right. People were lined up outside waiting for a table. We arrived early and were able to get seated right away. The staff was very friendly and the service was good.I had the beef puffy taco lunch plate. The food and salsa were average. My friends really liked the flour tortillas. I had the corn tortillas. They were tough and tasted freezer burned. The prices were a little high considering that you can get equal or better food at other places around town and a lower price.I would go back but I’m not in a hurry.
I came here to pick up breakfast tacos to go. Their daily special on breakfast tacos is a good deal. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean, organized and looked nice. The beans in the taco were good. The salsa verde was good. I was looking forward to the homemade flour tortillas unfortunately they were rubbery. This is not good. For this reason I am giving them only 3 stars but feel I should probably drop to 2 stars.I will try again for lunch sometime and update my rating depending on the next experience. Good tortillas = 4 stars, bad tortillas again = 2 stars.
Average food.I came here for a retirement lunch with a group of about 35 people. We had the “Depot” room reserved. Tea was already on the table and the ice was almost completly melted by the time we arrived. Two bowls of salsa and chips were provided per each 9 person table. We had to request more. The chips and salsa were very good though.I had the beef fajitas. They were average. The flour tortillas were good. The staff was friendly but a little slow as there was only two people helping with the large group. We used the free shuttle service to pick up 15 of us from our office in downtown San Antonio and take us back. This was an EXCELLENT touch. Because of this I will give four stars instead of three.
Came here with a large group during lunch on a weekday. Services was fine. Food was really good. Prices were fine.I will go back.
I went to lunch here on a weekday with a group of 8. Everybody enjoyed their meals. I ordered three different tacos a la cart. I don’t remember the three flavors I got but they were all good. The service was good. The seating inside was limited and it was a little warm in there. Overall I liked it and I would go back.
This is legit burrito heaven and it may have a spunkie atmosphere honestly the website doesn't always work but I don't care about the website... I care about the food.
