No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
So apparently they have my friends car. For prob over a year now. They have done no work to it, have had numerous phone calls from family and friends in which there is no answer. The news stations have all been contacted due to this shady business. If someone pays you for a service and it is not done within a certain time frame, then the car should be given back and the money as well. DO NOT TRUST THESE PPL WITH YOUR CAR OR YOUR MONEY. The fact that someone can pay this business off to keep someones car is beyond me and illegal. Karma will get these people in the end. Off to yelp and the BBB I go with terrible reviews since they do not want to entertain anyone's concerns of my friends car.

To be honest, if i could give them 0 stars I would. They told me my car would be ready within 2 days of me dropping it off.. It's been 4 days and my car is not yet done. They originally gave me a quote of 200 and now they're saying they're going to charge me 350. When I called the owner at 804-221-8500 I asked the owner to explain his pricing model and he said that the person that quoted me did it wrong and he's not the owner. I told him okay, that's fine but it's not my fault the owner wasn't around and what are we supposed to do because that wasn't the price originally provided for me. The owner in a very arrogant tone told me that I could pick up my car the same way I dropped it off. At that moment I got very upset because it's been 4 days, my car should have been ready in 2 and it's still not done. When I called at lunch today he told me he would let me know when it was ready by this afternoon.. it's 5:05PM and it's not ready... thanks for nothing guys.

If u need a state inspection I suggest you to not take your car there. 9 out of 10 cars will fail. The owner told me himself that if it's not a new car then he's going to find something wrong with it. Him not knowing who I was failed my car for something that has absolutely nothing to do with state inspection. I was there for about an hour and a half. I witnessed about 5 inspections and they all failed for issues that really had nothing to do with state inspection. But he was always handing out these outrageous estimates with your rejection sticker. Those are the kind of places that you need to watch out for. In the end is your money and you can do with it as you please but they will never get them to do any other services for me. Very disappointed
Just all around money hungry like most chain auto repair places are. They take advantage of hard working people. They do whatever they can to sell as much as they can, it does not matter how new or how good of condition your vehicle is in, if you go for an oil change or something simple, they will push a whole list of services on you. They charged $600 for alternator replacement + oil change + "inspect' take apart brakes" because of an issue I was having with them. And said I urgently needed another thousand in repairs.
DO NOT GO to any Richmond area Tuffy, especially this one. They cannot be trusted. I was overcharged (by hundreds of dollars) for repairs and maintenance they said had to be performed ASAP (without much further explanation) and forced to pay for services they advertised as free. They also performed another service which made the car drive much worse than before. All this happened on the same visit. I went back and complained, then called the office, but no one ever gave me any refund although I had been going there for years and the owner's sister confirmed they did rip me off. She also said they would fix my car yet she rescheduled on several occasions, and then simply stopped calling me back. No explanation provided. Need more reasons? The atmosphere and customer service is horrible. It appears someone started renovations but never completed them and the staff curses, listens to inappropriate music very loudly, and has a general disrespect. As if that isn't enough, I went somewhere else to get my car inspected and just so happened to meet someone who said he left Tuffy because they are dishonest.
I will never go here again. The first time I went and got my brakes fixed and after my brakes started making a noise. I went to Dykes auto place and they said Burford's did not put it on right. I went to Burford's another time for an oil change and the very next day my AC stopped working. I went to Burford's and told them my AC stopped working and he said maybe it is frozen (it was 70+ degrees on this day) and then quickly said they did not do it. I went to Dykes and got my AC fixed. I do not think Burford's is knowledgeable enough to have an auto business. They are also not customer friendly. I walked in and no one greeted me or acknowledged me. I stood infront of the counter with a lady behind the counter for a good 2-3 minutes before someone else walked in from the auto section and asked if they could help me. She never acknowledged that I was 3 inches from here (directly infront of her over the counter). Bad service + bad customer service = Burford's
