Employees are rude and condescending. Nearly impossible to get someone on the phone to talk about billing problems. Finally got someone, and agreed to pay out the rest of my contract even though I refused to go back. But I was still charged monthly fees for 3 more months. Finally got told my contract "auto renewed" even though I told them I did not want. Refuses to refund, even though I have followed their rules and contract.

This location has plenty of machines, is very clean and offers several stand up tanning machines, hydromassage chairs. The employees are very attentive and personable. The locker rooms and showers are very convenient and tidy. There are athletic, overweight, old, young, middle age, and equal numbers of males and female customers. The many machines and size of the business keep people from getting in each others way. I highly recommend this fitness center.

Definitely NOT your ordinary Gym or Fitness complex. A place you can not only benefit your physical health but also your mental health and social interaction. Its a place to go to release stress and anger from everyday society. Flex 4 and there staff is definitely devoted to giving you the best possible experience. With top of the line equipment. Advice from professional staff. And a clean family friendly environment.
I joined this gym for a year. They advertise $20 but you have to pay extra to be able to attend classes, use the gym on "off-hours", before 7am and after 9pm, and attend classes. I paid $34.95 a month to be able to go super early since I work far away. The people during that time were nice. I did have a hard time with overnighters leaving hundreds of pounds of weights on the free weights area. Kevin said there was nothing he could do about it when I complained. Not even a sign went up. I just stopped using that equipment and carried on. My year is up and circumstances changed so I sent a cancellation letter via certified mail to the address on the contract. It was returned to me "unclaimed". The mail carrier said that there are piles of mail on a regular basis for them that go unclaimed. I figured I would just hand deliver it then. I called and spoke with Kevin this morning who verbally abused for about 5 to 10 minutes. He went so far as to mock me like a 10 year old and then tell me not to yell. I honestly could barely get a word in, he just continued to talk over me. Would not accept hand-delivery. Told me I had to give 30 days. Tried to explain again that I was in the time frame but I can't send by mail again because if it goes 3 weeks unclaimed again, then he will charge me for another month. Told me to come in and sign an EFT cancellation form. I work 35 miles away and he said I could only do that between 8:30 and 3:30. Wouldn't fax or let someone pick one up for me so I only had to take on extended lunch in order to do that. Said those forms cannot leave the premises. Absolutely would not work with me at all. He told me he was happy I wasn't coming back and that he didn't me there. And so much more that I can't even post. All because I called and told him that the letter was sent back to me and I wanted to drop it off. Nice. This person doesn't deserve anyone's hard earned money. Plenty of gyms around. Also I looked further into The Body Shop which is actually AKS Fitness, Inc. d/b/a The Body Shop Fitness Centers. The status with the Secretary of State is "suspended". You can go onto the Secretary of State website for NC and look it up. It has been suspended by the NC Department of Revenue since October 31, 2012. Any contracts and business done under the corporation name is not valid and also the owner is liable personally for anything that were to happen since the corporation is suspended. So if anyone wanted to cancel early, your contract isn't valid between October 31, 2012 and now so far. If you have any complaints with getting money back or what I am going through, also google Attorney General Consumer Protection and you can file a complaint with them or call and ask questions.
Flex 4 has LOTS of equipment; a friendly atmosphere; two huge sets of dumbells; free weights; benches; cables; four types of cardio equipment; and a powerrack--unusual in a lot of gyms! I've been a member about six weeks and enjoy it.
There are alot of weights (free and machines) and there are about 25+ other machines. It is open 24hrs but we not feel safe going to work out when no one else was there. there are a couple of showers and small dressing room. There are classes but you have to pay extra. There is a kiddie room but no one to watch the kids. The customer service is horrible. You have to sign a one year contract that you can not get out of. It is on automatic draft and even after notification of cancellation the drafts continued to come out. The management is not helpful at all. Would not reccommend this establishment to anyone.
