Green Valley Baptist Church is a Bible based church. The preaching and teaching is based on Biblical principals. Awana is offered on Wednesday night and the Awana workers are warm and supportive of the children. My grandchildren have attended VBS three summers in a row. Every year, VBS is one of the highlights of the summer. There is a terrific Student program that meets every Sunday evening and a music ministry that stands out among local churches. I would (and do!) recommend Green Valley Baptist Church to any family looking for a place to call home.
Small friendly and family orientated church. Knowledgable Pastor. Teaches and peaches from KJV with little outside references. Conservative bible driven views in a loving but firm manner. Approachable Pastor and staff. Childrens ministry is well staffed and closely monitored.
This is an updated review from many years ago. Yelp has deleted so many negative reviews about this business. Through the years, I keep seeing negative reviews being removed and taken down by Yelp. I wonder if this is being requested by the church. What ever happened to freedom of speech? Thank you, Yellow Pages, for not taking bribes from businesses (if that indeed is what has happened). Thank you for letting the people/customers speak the truth. "Test the spirits" (1 John 4:1). Please look up the Moses Model. Rick Ross, cult expert, has stated that the Moses Model has been used in many abusive groups. There is a curtain here at this church, but if you are not close to leadership you will not see it. In fact, everything appears pretty normal from the outside. Read Luke 12:42-48, Luke 11:35 and 2 Corinthians 11. I came across a website called www.CalvaryChapelAbuse.com which consists of hundreds of similar testimonies from abused Christians. I do pray for all the leaders at this place, and I love them; however, I must share this for the sake of other Christians - because I have seen other people being mistreated there too through the years. Spiritual abuse is WRONG, un-Christlike and it should not be swept under the rug. It's hypocrisy. Take a look over at the CC abuse website. The leadership here has refused accountability. Many people in Henderson have been treated abusively and legalistically by this church's leadership. Do your research or else you may end up getting hurt too. There is a strong spirit of elitism and control here. Again, I do LOVE and PRAY for them. No ill-will here. I wish the leadership the best. This is for the abused people, to comfort and alert them. Also, research Chris Lawson, Director of Spiritual Research Network, Inc. (An ordained Calvary Chapel pastor of 14 years (1997-2011) who served nearly 25 years in the movement.) He left, and now he also warns about the church. Be warned. Read your Bibles. Research. With care, Anonymous
People there are controversial I see why they lost over 100 people. You have to go there long enough to see for yourself.
This church has a warm and inviting fellowship. The preaching is from God's Word. There are many mixed small groups that allow for more personal study and fellowship. Try this church and see for yourselfm
I make this review to you and before God. I love CCGR. A place where people can come and hear God's Word taught by my brother in the Lord John Knapp. AN EXCELLENT BIBLE TEACHER/EXPOSITOR. Probably as polished as anyone. I do believe that God has so much more for all of us! I think we barely scratch the service! There is no "perfect assembly of believers" anywhere! If you live in the area, I do recommend Brother/Pastor John's ministry in teaching. Also, good Christian fellowship. Pastor Knapp's associate, Gregg Seymore (spelling?) is an excellent associate pastor. I give John and Gregg five stars!
I was not even a member of this church, but my mom was. I became extremely ill in the long term and when I was very close to dying, I asked my mom to see if anyone would come and pray by my bedside. The members of the church came out of the woodwork for me! One of the pastors even came to the hospital where I was having my 3rd gallbladder attack. His prayers, I felt, saved me! All of their prayers did. I can't tell you what their loving care has done for me. I'm still sick, but when I'm well enough, I get to Firm Foundations where we study the Bible and to the service either Saturdays or Sundays. I am a member now and I can't say enough about the goodness of these people. They are kind and forgiving, just as I want to be. I'm so blessed to have found a new family at Calvary Chapel Green Valley! It's my mission in life to give the comfort and prayer that was given to me when I was at my worst. We could all learn a valuable lesson from the good people there.
The first review is looks like an automated one. The second one failed to describe why THIS Calvary Chapel was in error, it just gave a vague description and a lot of info on the main CC leader.I have attended CCGV for many years now, I love John's preaching of the word, I know he loves the people and the Lord. The church is not perfect, it may seem as strict at times, but I have been around, from the biggest church in town to the smallest congregations, and with the great falling away underway this church is the best and safest place for you, your family and any new Christian. If you have a family with young children this is the place to be, the children's pastors are very sweet and fear the Lord, we speak to them mainly, I know P. John has a lot on his plate, and any concern we may have we can bring to them without judgement or problem, whereas somewhere else they have told us to hit the door.
