The A&E / Sear’s technician, who did the complete overhaul of my Kenmore Elite Washer on July 19, failed to reconnect a pressure hose to the air dome. This caused the Washer to overfill with water and leak through the Washer door seal and on to the floor. By the time I got back home from walking my dog, the laundry room, kitchen and part of my family room was flooded. Having only partial use of my left arm, due to recent shoulder surgery, it took me several hours to mop up the flooded rooms.
I don’t remember the technician’s name nor have his ID number, because he never printed out a receipt of the services completed, detailing the work that was done. It is also obvious that this technician did not do a Diagnostic Test after the work was done. Had he done so, he would have discovered the disconnected pressure hose.
On July 27, Mike (Technician ID 0996421) was the very best Technician that I have ever had … and I mean better than any and all Technicians that had ever provided their services to me. He very quickly diagnosed, found and repaired my Kenmore Washer. He then did a Diagnostic Check and explained to me, step-by-step, what he was checking. After the washer was all fixed and tested, Mike took time to explain to me exactly what was fixed, why the washer overfilled, and why the water leaked past the door seal and flood my house. He also explained why I had a catastrophic failure of my washing machine, and what I can do the prevent such a failure to re-occur. In addition, he educated me on the proper use and care of the washer. Mike was extremely knowledgeable. And, in the end, Mike printed out a receipt, for the work accomplished, and gave it to me. Mike is one fantastic Technician.
Called Memorial day to set up an appointment for an ailing freezer. The air was not as cold as I thought it should be. They came out the next day; and I was very pleasantly surprised there was no lag time. Technician got to work right away diagnosing the problem and the compressor had iced over preventing air from circulating properly causing the freezer to work harder. He deiced the compressor, snaked the drain, and corrected the problem. He provided a very fair and equitable price and did not gouge me for repair costs like some technicians do. He explained exactly what he was doing and why every step of the process. Checked the freezer within 3 hours and had to actually turn down the setting because it was working so much more efficiently.
We have been waiting 2 weeks since the last 2 visits that said there was and irreparable leak. No Fridge, over $300 in lost food and no repair or replacement. That is why I thought I bought the repair or replacement insurance. BE CAREFUL. I wonder if they will honor their insurance guarantee. More than 2 weeks without a fridge is WAY too long. We already had the compressor replaced once already. I will think long and hard about buying another Kenmore.
Excellent. The repairman was in constant contact with me on the phone before his arrival and he analyzed and solved the problem with my washing machine in no time at all. Very nice man who spent time with my wife, son-in-law and me explaining details of the machine that we had not, until now, understood completely. And, since we had the extended warranty, no costs were involved. Thanks Sears!
Sears service and products have always been reliable and of high caliber. I love the warranty in that all parts and labor are included in one price, and if it's not repaired right they'll back up their work until it's done right. I had excellent service from my repairman from Sears.
