Overall
Customer is always WRONG

Bought a car in 02-08 from America's Choice. Gas gauge never worked, power windows only worked intermittently, antifreeze leak, oil leak, engine knocked, no knobs for radio or four-way signal, would sometimes just not start for no reason, engine light on and blinking despite several attempts to fix the multitude of problems, air conditioner never worked. America's Choice gave us a knob for the four-ways. They took our car for FIVE DAYS, saying it was fixed, in May of 2008. We got it back on Saturday, then on Sunday we were going up the Poconos for a funeral, and the car wouldn't start. Same problems continued, even though we always made our payments. They refused to help us, even though we were also suckered into buying their extended warranty package from Penn Warranty for $35 a month. They said any repairs they did would be added to our loan balance (despite the fact that the problems were there from day one and we notified them within the first 2 weeks about all the issues going on). We decided we didn't want the car anymore, despite paying $7020 on it, because it wasn't reliable AT ALL and we have a second vehicle. After hearing this, the manager offered us another car from the lot, promised no money down, no prior balance added on, and possibly lower payments. After doing the paperwork and picking a new car, we were told that $800 would be added to the balance, our payments would INCREASE to $85 a week, and we'd be looking at another grand total of $9400 (for a car tagged at $6995 and worth only $4500, according to KBB.com). I got a printout of all our payments from America's Choice. I totaled all the payments we've made, for a total of $7020. However, on the same printout, the total America's Choice had was only $6820. Where'd my other $200 in payments go? Another thing, there were a few times we had to postpone a payment. At those times, as noted on the printout, we were assessed that week's worth of interest that got added back onto the total ($58 added back in). The problem with that is nowhere in any of the paperwork was there mention of "refinancing." The second problem with this is that it is NOT compound interest being charged on the car, so the straight-line 9.9% interest that was added on at the beginning was the only interest allowed, according to their own contract. For those weeks, we were charged double interest. In addition, that straight 9.9% was not divided equally among all payments, sometimes it was $60 of a payment applied to interest, other times it was $3.50, and it's all mixed up. This company does not care about customers, nor do they care about supplying vehicles that work. They will not assist anyone with problems they created or knew about, but don't forget to make your payments early because they will call you twice a day until you give them money, but they won't be around when they junk car falls apart. Stay away from this company. No one deserves this kind of stress.
