Oral Cancer Screening
Provide dental services for patients of all ages; perform dental exams and provide general and emergency dental care, including regular cleanings, scaling and prophylaxis, scaling and root planing (deep cleaning); advise and instruct patients regarding preventative dental care and about the causes and treatment of dental problems; diagnose and treat oral diseases and injuries using dental instruments, X-rays and other diagnostic equipment; conduct oral cancer screenings; conduct amalgam and composite restorations; place fillings; perform pit and fissure sealants, socket preservations, extractions and minor oral surgeries, as well as root canals, including anterior teeth, premolars and molars; plan and make crowns, bridges and veneers; construct full and partial dentures; instruct patients in proper practices of dental hygiene and in procedures for provided treatments.

Teeth Cleaning
There are two types of dental cleaning, or tooth cleaning. There is cleaning your teeth at home and there is a professional dental cleaning that takes place in your dentist’s office.

Fillings
❖ Dental amalgam, sometimes described as “silver-colored” fillings, is made from a combination of metals that include mercury, silver, tin, and copper. Dental amalgam has been used for generations by dentists. Amalgam is very durable and more affordable than tooth-colored or gold fillings; however tooth-colored materials are more natural looking.
Resin Composite
❖ Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, are a mixture of glass or quartz filler that provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth. They are an option for correcting stained, chipped, decayed or crooked teeth. Veneers are made by a dental technician, usually in a dental lab, working from a model provided by your dentist. Placing veneers is usually an irreversible process, because it’s necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your tooth to accommodate the shell. Diagnose and treat oral diseases and injuries, conduct oral cancer screenings, perform surgical procedures like extraction of any impacted, damaged or non- restorable teeth, apicoectomy, biopsy, alveoloplasty, mandibular and maxillary tori removal and fixation of dentoalveolar fractures along with restorative procedures like amalgam and composite restorations, perform pit and fissure sealants. Treatment planning dental implants, interpretation of CBCT imaging, socket preservation by bone grafting, surgical placement of implant and restoring dental implants. Also perform root canal treatment (RCT), plan and make crowns, bridges and veneers; fabricate complete and partial dentures. Perform caries control, periodontal maintenance and instruct patients in preventative practices like home care and reinforce proper practices of dental hygiene. May provide services to patients at other Dr. Dental offices in Connecticut as needed.

Deep Cleaning
Scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning below the gumline used to treat gum disease.Gum disease is caused by a sticky film of bacteria called plaque. Plaque is always forming on your teeth, but if they aren’t cleaned well, the bacteria in plaque can cause your gums to become inflamed. When this happens, your gums will pull away from your teeth and form spaces called pockets. Plaque then gets trapped in these pockets and cannot be removed with regular brushing. If untreated, gum disease could lead to bone and tooth loss.
