Alison Anne Bridal Alterations

Our daughter bought her dress in Nashville, so we needed alterations closer to home. We were referred to Alison Ann Alterations. We were more than pleased with her patience, skills, and expertise. She not only hemmed and took it up, but she added sleeves based on our daughter’s verbal description. The dress was beautiful! We were more than pleased with the final results and cost!

Alison took my mom's 80's wedding dress and altered it so it was a little more modern for my wedding. She was able to keep the original style that I wanted but made it more flattering on me (my mom was tiny!)

Alison is an extraordinary seamstress and her ability to tailor and fit is unmatched. Her work for me is always flawless.

Twice, Alison Anne has saved me from disaster! I recently ordered a pageant gown and paid way too much. And to make it worse, my daughter hated how it looked on her. The fit wasn't quite right and the style was not right either. I called Alison and she made some suggestions. She adjusted the fit and then, redesigned the gown, making it more attractive on her., My daughter wore it in a pretty big pageant, with over 25 girls, some wearing $2000-$3000 dollar gowns! My daughters gown was named top 5 in best evening gown! She looked beautiful and the gown was gorgeous! She loved the gown after Alison did her magic! She did the same thing for us last year when the dress arrived and it was too small! She made it fit and it looked beautiful. I would recommend her to anyone needing something done correctly, efficiently and on time. Her prices are reasonable too. She is the best!!

I am an extremely petite bride. I ordered my dress online and bought the smallest size. The entire dress was too big and I was afraid that shortening the dress would require losing a lot of lace. She did a wonderful job and the dress looks made for me! I am very pleased.

I learned of Alison Anne via this website. I contacted her and emailed her pictures of my gown. She and I then met at her location where I put my dress on. After a very short time, she had all of the information she needed. Two weeks later Alison called me for my 2nd fitting. I again put my dress on, and she immediately notice a few items (nothing major), within a few minutes of waiting in the dressing room she completed the necessary adjustments. My dress now fits like a glove, thanks to Alison and her capabilities, all at a very reasonable price. Thanks!

I was honored when a dear friend asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, but her religion required that we wear long dresses with sleeves. I'm sure anyone who's ever been in a similar situation knows how hard it is to find such a dress in the stores. Some bridal shops didn't have ANYTHING with sleeves, while others had very limited (and not exactly attractive) selections. In the end, the bride took us all to a fabric store, showed us the fabric she wanted, and basically left us on our own to come up with appropriate dresses. Alison saved me by making a beautiful dress that was modest, but still very flattering. Not only that, but she made it for cheaper than anything I could have bought off the rack. I'm not even thinking about getting married yet, but when I do, Alison is making my gown. She's awesome!

Alison helped me with an emergency alteration this fall and she was great. I had purchased my dress in another state where I am currently living. It fit beautifully in the bust , but was big in the waist. The seamstress at the shop pinned it up and everything seemed good until I picked it up the day before I was to leave for Huntsville - 10 days before my wedding. It fit fine in the waist , but barely zipped over my chest. It squashed my chest and looked awful. the seamstress claimed it was my fault, that I gained weight ( in my chest only apparently). She was willing to let it out, for another fee, but it wouldn't be ready until 2 days before my wedding. In a panic I looked up wedding alterations in the Huntsville yellow pages.com. None of the bridal shops would touch my gown because it didn't come from their shop. Fortunately I found Alison Anne. She made time for me to come the very next day on my way into town. She calmed me down and assured me the gown could be fixed. She had it ready for me two days later and it was absolutely perfect. She even re-beaded the area under the arm where it was let out, and it matched the rest of the bead work perfectly.She also showed me another , more attractive way to bustle the train than the way the other seamstress had done it. I highly recommend Alison, she is very professional.

I found my Watters and Watters bridal gown at a local store and they offered me a 20% discount if I purchased the sample size. I decided it would be worth the alterations cost and purchased the dress in a size 10 though I was really a size 6. By the time the wedding was approaching, I was a size 2 and the dress was entirely too big. Alison did a WONDERFUL job essentially remaking the gown to fit my frame. She had to take in the dress four sizes but still managed to maintain the integrity of the gown. I was very impressed with her craftmanship as well as with the speed of the alterations process. After two fittings, the dress fit me perfectly and no one could have guessed it had once been a size 10! In addition, she custom-designed my french bustle and it was absolutely beautiful! I would definitely recommend her services to anyone needing alterations for a big event. Her skill was in line with the seamstressed touted by the big Vera Wang-like retailers but the prices were much more reasonable.
