Nonprofit Nursing Home
I worked here as an employee and literally had to quit about a month in. Never have I seen a facility run as poorly as this. The staff are rude, unprofessional, and they do not do their jobs. If you put your family member here, I hope you don't mind them never getting cleaned with soap. The residents are stripped of their rights, they are bullied and the staff literally does not care. The facility is dirty, (one night a residents urine bag leaked all over the floor and they didn't even mop it) the food is disgusting, and if you're a resident here, you will get nothing that you desire. If I could give this a negative rating I would. I'm ashamed to even say I was an employee. Don't ever put a family member here, I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.
DO NOT let ANYONE stay here !! My boyfriend is there and was accused of stuff and twhen i was visiting him he wanted somethi8ng and it took them over an hour to see what he needed and then he just had a diabetic sezuire bexause his suger was lower then 50 and he tried to get help before then!!! i hate this place they are so rude and they say the person that you want to talk to doesnt not want to talk and they havent even told the person that they have a call that is when the pick up!!! i wouldnt even rate it one star!!1
My mother was brought to Chelsea Place for rehabilitation after her hospital stay for kidney failure. This place is extremely dirty and very depressing. The staff from nurses to aides were very rude and lazy. My mom almost died from heart failure because they felt she wasnt serious enough to go to the hospital, yet the doctors at the hospital said if she came in any later she would have died. They did not change dressings on her legs daily. The put the date on the dressings and when I went in a week later to visit my mom the same dressing was still on her leg. They stole money and items from her room. Also the nurses would never tell her what medicines she was being given when she asked. My mon started keeping a journal of all the problems she was encountering and every time she woukd leave her room the nurse on duty would rip out her notes so my mom could not turn them in. So my mom had to carry it on her all the times. My mom was fearful of her roommate hurting her because she would have violent outbursts with the staff and my mothers request to move to another room was ignored. Never allow a family member or friend to go to this home...I dont know how the doors remain open.

This is the most God-awful place imaginable! My father was transferred to Chelsea Place from an adult care facility in Bloomfield so that he could be transported easier to St. Francis Hospital for his weekly dialysis. Additionally, he was found to be a ""roamer"" and required a more secure facility. Since he was transferred there, he looks awful! The place is dirty and people of all types of capacity are just grouped together with very little care and attention. My father who is intellectually very sharp struggles with mental health issues that are very harmless (he talks about having big money, lots of real estate investments, politics and historical events). He is housed with people who have exhibited physical aggression, steal and engage in sexually deviant behaviors. I don't know how this place is allowed to continue to exist. I've started to do my part to look into how I can have him moved to a cleaner, safer, caring yet secure facility like the previous one in Bloomfield.
