I purchased a prom dress with my daughter and had a wonderful experience.The consultants were knowledgeable, thoughtful and attentive.The selection of dresses was superb.Yes you do need to take a number upon arrival and there may be a wait as it is a popular store particularly pre prom season. The dress purchased was selected by the consultant and was exquisite. We would not change anything about the experience and I will cherish the memory of that morning, shopping with my daughter forever!
Second year in a row I have had an unpleasant prom shopping experience with Port Cargo. My friend and I, both serious buyers, picked out four dresses each to try on. After a half hour of shopping we had dresses and employees walked by us six times over an hour while we were waiting for a dressing room. When an employee finally stopped to ask us if we had a number (which we did not because no one told us we had to take one), we took a number and continued to wait another hour for three employees to wait on only four other customers. They showed no haste in hanging dresses back up or checking out buyers. Even after there were only three people left in the entire store, none of us were being waited on. We finally got waited on, and the employee was extremely rude and unhelpful. Even if I had found a dress, I would have taken my business else where, because my money is not worthy of the treatment I received in this store. Because of this, I am going to drive over an hour to find a dress at a better store.
I just walked out of the store and was appalled by the attitude of the woman working the counter. She was an older woman and asked if I needed help, I politely said "no thanks, just putting around while I wait for a salad next door. I had no idea you guys were even here, it's adorable, my mom would love it!" She ignored me and turned around. I was then admiring a small purse in the enclosed counter and asked, "is this a vintage piece?" Genuinely interested and considering purchasing the bag for a Christmas gift. She said, extremely rude, "No." And walked away. I'm a 24 year old women, working as a nanny-mind you I did have a 1 year old on my hip, but this should not be the standard to which your company holds its employees. Extremely offended. Will never stop in again.
I do not recommend! That store has a very limited return policy. After 7 days you are stuck!! Not even a store credit. The window for returns is too narrow!
Highly recommend. I bought a dress here for a wedding. Normally avoid sales folks in stores as find them pushy and not very helpful. Just the opposite here - they got an idea of what I liked gave lots of options and honest opinions and definitely spent less that I would have elsewhere. Have not gotten more complements on a dress!
