Hampton Family Practice is a privately owned, primary care group of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants dedicated to the mission envisioned by its founder, Dr. Michael H. Joynes in 1977.
Ear Infections
Children are vulnerable to earaches and ear infections while attending school. Your child might get an earache at night, and an ear drop can be effective for immediate pain relief. Eye drops come in handy if you are experiencing dry, irritated or red eyes. They can flush out foreign bodies such as dust, dirt or eyelashes. There are allergy eye drops as well as normal saline or lubricating eye drops, so ask your doctor which one they recommend for you.

Flu Shots
Flu shots can be obtained at a patient’s regularly scheduled appointment. No additional communication or appointment is necessary, simply ask your nurse at triage. Otherwise, please complete the flu shot request form below. You will receive a confirmation within 1 business day with your appointment time.
Electrocardiogram
When indicated, Hampton Family Practice performs electrocardiograms (EKG/ECD) to assess your heart health. We also perform screenings to check for bone density, an important test for senior patients in particular. In addition, our facility has the capacity to do blood tests to check your cholesterol and blood sugar levels and screen for cancer and other conditions.
Immunizations
Hampton Family Practice is NOT currently administering COVID-19 vaccines. COVID-19 vaccinations are widely available at most pharmacies and other walk-in locations. To find the nearest vaccination location to you, visit https://vaccinate.virginia.gov/.

Gynecology
In 1977, I opened Hampton Family Practice and I am proud of our long history of offering compassionate medical care to the families of the Hampton community. I enjoy offering the full scope of family medicine for my patients, many of whom have been coming to this practice since its beginnings. My clinical interests include: preventive medicine, office dermatological surgeries, gynecology, psychiatry and behavioral health, and geriatrics.
