Butler County Care Facility

Now where to start. I recently took my clinicals hours for school at the Care Facility and was in tears by my second day. I was in the Alzheimers clinic and i saw neglect and residents rights and more things that i can ever discribe. My first day i saw no perineal care when changing a soiled brief i saw bed sores and when we reported it to the nurses staff it didnt seem like a concern and they seemed like it wasnt there before our clinical time though it was in stage 2 close to 3. I feel like if our class wasnt there for clinicals the residents wouldnt have been fed correctly. I saw call lights being left on for long periods of time without being taken care of. One resident had there light on for about ten minutes when another classmate and i walked by and took care of her. She had soiled her brief with stool and been sitting in it while her call light was not answered. We left the call light on to get help from the staff because we are still in training and we had been taking care of her for like 30 - 45 minutes before an aid came to check. The call light had been on the whole time. I dont have enough space to write everything i had witnessed but I do know that i will keep going up the chain of command until i can make a difference. Giving them one star makes me sad because they dont even deserve one. But my suggestion is to really investigate and check these kinds of sites before you make a decision for your loved one. These places are good at hiding things. And when you go to check the place out really pay attention..
