I was sorely disappointed with my sushi order. I normally order just a California roll(about the same price both places $4.50 without fish eggs, $5 with)and even on Sakuras worst "sushi days"(thin layer rice and forgot my fish eggs, again) its still 100,times better then Sushi palace. Which really stinks because they are right up the road from me, and Sakura is across town so I had really high hopes. I will say, staff was very nice and presentation was good, then I put it in my mouth. I arrived at about 11am so they had only been open 30 min. You'd think everything would be fresh right? Yeah so did I! Bit the rice was clearly not fresh at all, and the worst part of all was I literally had to pull the glob of nasty, grassy tasting, chewy stringy piece of the seaweed out of my mouth. I ate about half, then lost my appetite and couldn't finish it. I'm no expert on sushi, but I've never experienced that ANYWHERE, I've eaten sushi before. And even worse, now 20,min later, I'm still trying to get that seaweed taste out of my mouth. I don't know if it was old, or uncooked, bit whatever the issue was, I pray it doesn't make me sick. I'm sorry to leave such a horrible review but I'm just being honest. They have a lot of potential. The place looked clean and tidy, people were friendly and it looked appetizing. But that's where the good stopped. If my rice was fresh and the seaweed has been right, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between them and Sakura for the most part.I'm not going to be picky about other minor things I noticed. And I rarely leave bad reviews because I believe the good reviews are most important. People tend to only want to speak up or leave a review when they want to complain. This being my first visit, I planned on leaving a review anyway. Bit I actually thought it was going to be a good one. Especially with the primarily good review's they have (4 out of 5 were good). They are a small shop. So I imagine they try to save by saving food for the next day and maybe I just caught them on a bad day. But that seaweed is what really did it on for me! It ruined the entire roll!,Truly disappointed and now nauseated.
Amazing and helpful staff! I live in New York and was having a hard time finding a certain Burton jacket for my boyfriend. The staff was so helpful and made sure I got exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.
I have always received great service and great food. If you have anything to complain about with this restaurant you're a whiner. They would gladly fix anything for customers to be happy.
I've been going there for yrs, this time of yr 4 eastern shore lopes & corn, the best flavor availailable, friendly service,a mom & pop, beats unfriendly exp of corp grocers
