Overall

I have been in the cosmetology business for close to 7 years now. I usually go to Sally's to buy my cutting tools (clipper & trimmers), I work at an all mens hair salon. I bought my last trimmers from Sally's probably about 8 months ago ( Wahls Peanuts ). Since I work at an all mens salon, trimmers go "bad" on you pretty quickly, even with an up keep of oiling them and cleaning them. I went into the Gurnee store around noon to buy a pair of trimmers seeing the ones I was using were just scratching my clients and leaving red marks on their necks- I knew it was time for a new pair. The pair of Wahl Peanuts I bought- I wasn't very satisfied with. I literally had to dig into the hair for it to cut at all, and go over the sideburns and neckline a few times. I did 25 haircuts that day- got out of work around 8:30PM, ran over to Sally's (knowing they're closing at 9, and I know how it is to have customers come in at last minute). So yes, the trimmers I had bought earlier that day were probably not very clean- I was in a rush to get to the store to return. I got there- & the manger, not sure of her name. (Wears lots of make up and has huge hair) was giving me such a hard time to return them. Long story short- pretty much flat out called me a liar. Saying my trimmers were too dirty to have just been bought earlier that day (she was there when I bought them). I did 25 haircuts - of course they are full of hair. I originally just wanted to exchange them, but after her treating me so poorly I wanted my money back and I would go else where to buy my trimmers. I am also a manager where I work so I deal with customers on a day to day basis- and I would NEVER treat a customer the way she treated me. I am very disappointed. I ended up walking out with an exchange, I have never been one of those people who argue in stores or give the employees a hard time- seeing I know how it feels, but, I will be calling the store tomorrow to see if there is anyone "higher" up I can talk to. Being called a liar by the manager ( who in my opinion is the "leader" ) was a total disgrace. Never again will I give the Gurnee Sally's my business and I will let all my fellow cosmetologists know how poorly the customer service is.
