We stayed at this park August 1-4, 2008. It was clean, quiet, and lawns were nicely manicured. We had a good spot and it was very quiet and close to a bath house. The bathhouses are only open from 8am-10pm which kind of put a damper on things and they were busier closer to closing time so we had to wait some. They weren't the cleanest facilites but they were fair. Park featured lots of amenities that were made out to be more than they really were. The putt putt golf course was sparse, the ponds were slimy and yucky, the lake was too low to use the paddle boats. The outdoor pool was nice, but the indoor one spelled so strong with chlorine, you couldn't stand it. Park has lots of rules an they stress them. Overall was an okay experience. It was a little further from the beach than we liked. We toured the Gulf State Park which is cheaper and nicer and right across the street from the beach. We liked it better and will got here next time. They're facilites were top notch. No pools, golf or paddle boats, but nice clean new bathhouses, nice lake for fishing and nice camping spots. We won't visite Gulf Breeze again because it's too far out of the way.

Oh my gosh! So! My friend booked us at Southport for the 3 day music festival in Gulf Shores May 16-18th. Sandy [queen bee] and her crew went above and beyond to accommodate everyone there. The campground is just that.. If you're looking for a place to set up camp for a few nights [tent or camper] it's great! You've got your basic necessities for camping, a place to set up, bathrooms, and showers! Sandy and her helpers that weekend even made breakfast for that weekend for all of the hangout goers [and let me tell you.. There were a lot of us]. Maybe I liked it better then the other review posted here because my expectations weren't super high for a CAMPGROUND! As long as I have a place to sleep, shower, and use the bathroom... I'm a happy camper. . Haha. The staff also provided shuttles for us to and from the beach, AND had karaoke and dance contests that weekend. I would go back for sure, just to hang out with the people who run the campground, not to mention it was one of the best weekends of my life, and southport was a part of it... ♡
Should change the name to noisy lake a cement plant is right next to to campsites it runs continuous starting at 430 am till 6 or 7 pm everyday except Sunday trucks make deliveries of cement in tankers trailers which run high pitched vacuum pumps to unload at all hours 130 am one day and 330 am on another we were not told about the noisy when we rented space for 3 months but we're told there were no refunds some of the campers pulled out and took the lose we want peace and quiet when we camp and this was not it we are already looking for a new spot for next year
We've been going to Luxury for about 4 years and we love it. It's convenient to everything and you can walk instead of fighting the traffic. it's only 2 blocks from the beach. it has a swimming pool, showers and laundry rooms. there's only one problem and that is if you want to stay there on july 4th week you have to reserve it a year in advance the same goes for the shrimp festival. so if you ever get a chance check it out!! it's also very clean and everyone is very friendly.
I've stayed at the Gulf Breeze at least once a year for the past 7 years. I love this place. The people are friendly, and theres a million things to do just at the resort. I just love it!
