Moved here recently and wanted to try some of the tourist hot spots in the off season to see if we wanted to take or recommend to out of town guests. Weather was great, we were seated on the patio with sun in our face. It was great on the 4th day of January. The server came by about 10 minutes after we were seated and took our drink order, since we had ample time to have reviewed the menu, we ordered lunch too. When she came back with our Coca-Cola's, we took a sip an realized it was a bad mix, lots of chemical taste. About this time a party of 6 was seated nearby and a lot of "fuss" was made getting them seated. We imagined they were regulars and dismissed it, but we were still trying to get our servers attention to replace our drinks.....she was sitting with this new group and taking their drink order and never even glanced our way. About 5 minutes later the manager came by with our food, and we informed her of the drink issue - she apologized and came back immediately with a new round that tasted fine. We ate lunch while overhearing the large party receiving their drink order and it was incorrect. When our server said to one of the guests who was supposed to have had tea, and it was given to another guest, "can't you just take his tea, its not like he has cooties or something", we just about fell out laughing. Next, that same table received a bowl of shrimp and grits and a photographer came to take a picture of it with one of the guests. I thought perhaps it was the local food critic writing about a new dish......BTW, our server had not come back to check on us or the table next to us who were wanting their check. She finally does take the check to the table next to us, never checks on us or looks our way. They are prepared and give her their credit card at the same time and the check is returned by the manager who doesn't check on us either. More appetizers go the large party, and we hear the server address the women who had her picture taken as Ms. Lucy. So we google Lucy Buffet and it was her. Our server did come by after that and we asked for the check and a to go box. She told us at that time she was sorry but she had been consumed with the CEO, COO and senior management team who were joining them for lunch. We waited another 10 minutes without a sign of our server. We go up to head to the hostess stand to see if we could pay there. As we were leaving we saw several staff and they all wished us well, thanked us for coming, etc. even our own server. If I hadn't caught the manager to ask for our check, we could have walked right out. She got our server who could only remind us she had to take care of the COO, ..... I gave her cash and simply said, perhaps the COO she be concerned if your customers are being taken care of first. She was dumbfounded. Food was ok, service was horrible. If that was senior management team and they didn't notice the issues going on at the tables around them then you can see why the service was an issue. It was a laid back Tuesday afternoon - shouldn't have been an issue to entertain the owner, or the other customers. Speaks volumes and we won't be recommending it to our guests.

The food here is good. It is overpriced, but it is good.Bar is awesome here. The make the best daquiris ever. Don't pass up the chance to drink here.My food was good. We had to wait quite a while for it even though we went at lunch when there was only us and one other family, so if in a hurry you might want to come back when you have more time.My primary concern here is that the day we were here the manager was in the bar yelling at some poor waitress. Our waitress was adequate, not overly friendly but she did her job.
The bartender swears while children are around and pays more attention on her phone than the customers. The waitress acted it was her first day and didn't know the items on the menu. She could barely speak English. You can hear the kitchen guys yelling and swearing while loud music was playing. This is not a fine dining restaurant so why are the prices so high? I was confused if its a sports bar, fine dining or takeout. It was hard to enjoy the dinner during all of this disgust. It seemed the owner and managers were were unorganized and unprofessional. After meeting other locals around Gulf Shores that know some employees, have said that they hire people with warrants. At our dinner we saw a kitchen guy in uniform going to the bar to grab a pitcher of beer and a shot to take back into the kitchen while still on the clock. We advise never waste your money at Bill's by the Beach.
We loved it here. Great food. Reasonable prices. Parking lot always looks full but it's public beach access.
Chips and salsa served. Small bar area. Tables and booths available. Nice kids menu. Serves both lunch and dinner.
No substitutions!! If I order $30 fish I would like the option to sub grilled veggies for rice. We thought pretty pricey
What a great place to eat. It's a party every time you are there. They have great customer service. Definitely visit if you can.
Absolutely love sitting on the back porch with one of there amazing margaritas and some chargrilled oysters. You can't beat watching the boats go by with a nice sunset as a backdrop. The dining room is to loud for me also, as was mentioned by another review. Hopefully they'll do something about that. But the covered outdoor seating is preferable to me anyhow.
All good 'crept for one waitress who just stands at the bar and talks and sticks her fingers in her cleavage then eats from the cocktail garnishes like its her own personal buffet. Yuk. Don't get any drink that requires a garnish!!
This place was very disappointing! Poor excuse for room temperature oysters! To be called the original oyster house you would think the oysters would be good! The crackers were stale in the wrapper? How? Then we had boiled shrimp with NO seasoning.... Total waste of money and time! Waited for an hr and 20 min. All I can say good is that the workers were nice and that's it! We will never go back!
