Who we are:Dogwood Park is a high quality, low cost animal clinic. Our mission is to aid in the fight to end the euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats. Thousands of unwanted animals are euthanized in our local shelters each year; spay-neuter is the only proactive way to reduce the number of homeless animals who will die. The clinic was opened in 2009 to provide spay and neuter services to the CSRA and to educate the public on the benefits of spay-neuter programs. To date, we have performed thousands of surgeries! The Surgery prices on our list include antibiotics, heart/respiratory monitoring, rabies shot, pain medicine and a free nail trim! We strive to be as safe as possible with our patients, utilizing heated pads on surgery tables, and surgical health measures such as monitoring oxygen saturation and blood pressure during surgery. All of our surgeries receive post-op pain relief medication appropriate for the procedure. Were here for your pet:Dogwood Park is excited to provide low cost services for your cat and/or dog. Our services include spay/neuter, vaccinations, diagnostics, microchips, and general/physical wellness exams. We know the love that a pet brings to our lives, and want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to not only have a companion pet, but provide it with the quality care it deserves!

My dogs had a great experience here. Loving and knowledgeable staff. They are able to offer many treatments and great prices on these treatments. The location was clean and friendly.

I wish there was a no star option!
It’s been 3 days since our Abby was cut open to remove what was thought to be a mass growing on her spleen. After 2 different xrays/radiographs they were certain it was a mass and it had to be removed. Further growth would effect other organs.
Our sweet girl had NO mass! She has been cut open like a fish (her entire belly) and was sent home within a couple hours with no pain meds or antibiotics. Today is the 3rd day and the incision is still oozing and she’s extremely swollen. We were giving no directions for cleaning the incision, what to expect or anything!
Total cost of the entire surgery (splenectomy) was $485.00 with overnight fees. Our Sweet girl had nothing removed and wasn’t there but about 7hrs yet they refunded me $90 and stated we’d paid for no pain meds which is why they sent her home with none.
Abby is a small dog and for 5 months dogwood has told me her weight issues are stemmed from
Thyroid trouble. We have taken her every 4 weeks for blood work and medication adjustments to get her thyroid levels correct. The last two visits her levels were still extremely high and they issued her the same medication/mg/dosage each time. My poor pup has been pushed and poked on for 5 months now and none of it was called for.
My coworkers yorkie was seen at dogwood recently also. It took 8 weeks, a second opinion and $1500 to determine that her sweet boy was in a cast on his front leg for no reason because his bone was never broken! Our pets are not in their best interest!
There have been about 10 people contact me that have had poor experiences here...... 2 of which resulted in the death of their babies! I am waiting on a few more and will be taking all of this to News 12 before anyone else’s fur baby has to go through what ours has. I wish I could attach pictures of her incision it would break your hearts.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS VET!!!

I’m not one that typically leaves reviews and I have been holding my tongue on this business however I now feel lead to share my experience. I have a responsibility to others in hopes they don’t expose their pets to unnecessary procedures, medications, etc. I entrusted my daughter’s puppy to these doctors and in return experienced extreme negligence on their part. Long story short, my daughter’s puppy jumped off our back deck and I thought he was injured. I took him to a vet immediately, Dogwood, and we told them what the puppy did. They took advantage of my assumptions; that he had a broken leg. I was given that diagnosis and he was casted. At that time didn’t have a reason to question the diagnosis and I did everything I was advised of to the “T”. After way more weeks than typical of him being casted and my constant questioning, they had no choice than to send his x-ray’s to UGA, whom confirmed that the dog’s leg was NEVER broken. What was diagnosed as a broken leg for nearly seven week’s was nothing more than a developing bone!!! It was absolutely negligent and incompetence, or much worse just a way to make money! And what’s much worse, is after telling me that, they wanted me to finish paying a bill on things that shouldn’t have even been done ! Talk about wrong !?! After a few days of processing all of this and getting other Vets opinions I asked for a refund only for the charges that weren’t necessary. I get a response of one that surely doesn’t understand the severity of the situation nor has the desire to right a wrong. Since my unfortunate experience I have come across many customers that have had a much worse experiences so on that account I am fortunate. BUT I do believe I should share in order for others to make an informed decision on their pet’s doctors.

This was the worst experience. They overbooked first of all. The waiting room was packed and people there had already been waiting an hour when we got there. We also had to wait an hour. When someone finally came to get my dog they said they were taking him back for blood work. When they brought him back to me he was still bleeding where they had stuck him by the time we finally made it back to see the vet in what seems to be the only exam room they kept adding on the things they said he needed. Never did they even act like he was someone’s pet. They took an extra test “very important test” on his kidneys and liver. I paid an extra $30 to get the results quickly. They said they would call in 30 minutes after we left. They never called and when we tried we only got the recording. This is Friday, so now we have to wait until Tuesday for the results we paid for quickly! This place and staff are awful!!! The only reason they even got one star from me is because you can’t post until you pick one otherwise I wouldn’t give any!!!!

I have not had good experiences several times at Dogwood, but I did continue to come due to more competitive pricing, but prices have gradually increased to almost regular vet prices. Every time I have brought a pet here, the 2 girls at the front desk were always complaining or talking about people and their animals after they left, or talking about the person they had just spoken with on the phone. So, everyone in the lobby could hear their disgust and how they felt about the situation . This happened several times.
The last time I came to Dogwood was my worst visit. My pet was very sick and I was talked into letting him stay overnight. I was not kept informed on his status properly and was led to believe (over the phone) that another nights stay would help. But, when I said I wanted to bring him home then I was told that he needed to be put down. When I arrived at Dogwood I was presented with a lifeless pet with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. My pet was walking without any problems the day before. When I asked the vet tech what she gave him, she told me Valium . That was given without my consent. I had asked them not to give him anything without letting me know first.
Also, while I am holding my lifeless pet, the vet was defensive and argumentative with me when questions were asked about the situation. The vet was very uncaring when she euthanized my pet and didn't explain anything that she was doing. When it was over she carried him out with his head flopping around. When he was given back to me to take home to bury, I was told they had no boxes to put him in and he was carelessly wrapped in the towel that he had urinated on when he was brought in.
The unprofessional attitudes among the doctor, vet techs and the girls at the front desk is very disturbing and disappointing. I pray no one else has to go through the experience that I went through.

Best clinic in Columbia County. The staff is very well organized and their love of animals shines through. Its nice to have a place where you can get great veterinary service at a fair price. They are there to help animals and the people that love them not to turn a profit.

I have a teacup yorkie that I had spayed here as well as had several teeth extractions. I should have been alarmed upon my first visit when the non-sympathetic veterinarian told me it was no big deal that they had to pull 15 of my dogs teeth when I was obviously very upset about this. We went ahead with the procedures, both which were done November 24th. I dropped my dog off that morning and was able to pick her up around 4 that afternoon. When I got her home I noticed that she seemed to be having problems breathing and was very concerned as she is only 3 pounds, so I called dogwood around 5:00 to see if this was normal or if I should bring her back. I was told this was not normal, but that they could not see her (for what reason I still don't know), so I had to take her to St. Francis and pay an emergency vet fee for them to check her. They were wonderful! They checked her out and ended up changing her medication because dogwood did not give me the proper medication, but this wasn't the end of our problems with dogwood. About 10 days later my dog still had her stitches so I called dogwood to see if they were supposed to give me an appointment to take her stitches out. They said no that the stitches would fall out on their own and that they did not need to remove them. Then, nearly a month later I called dogwood again, my dogs stitches still had not fallen out and they would not do anything about it. They never even asked to see her so she could be checked. So again this evening we went back to st Francis and they removed my dogs stitches at no charge. I will never go back to dogwood again for anything!
