Gresham Fire and Emergency Services is one of the departments that operates under the government of the city of Gresham, Ore., and provides fire protection and emergency medical response services to residents. The department offers a range of emergency services that includes fire suppression and prevention, hazardous materials-related emergency response and community safety education. It operates a regional hazardous materials response team. Gresham Fire and Emergency Services also operates a management division that improves the outcome of emergencies and disasters that impact the community. In addition, the department maintains a life safety division that ensures fire codes and standards to be applied to core functional areas of new construction, inspection, investigation and public education within its jurisdiction area.
