I want everyone to be aware about how TERRIBLE the MANAGEMENT is at the DTC Colorado Athletic Club, and how conniving and discriminating this place is. My family has been loyal members of Colorado Athletic Club for well over twenty years. However, there is a policy stating that when your child turns 21, they will be taken off the parents' account and need to have their own membership. I completely respect and understand the policy. However, this policy is not strictly regulated. There are countless families with children well over 24 to even 30 years old that are still under their parents account at the gym, and the managers are well aware of that. However, they decided to pick out my brother and me trying to get us kicked off our parents' account. When I told my dad, he was furious for multiple reasons. The way Kathy WEED the manager handled it was SO unprofessional: she did not directly call my parents, the ones that pay the bills, explaining the situation; instead, she had one of her SALES ASSOCIATES call ME (the "child" on the account) letting us know we were going to be kicked off our parents account and to let my parents know. My dad then went into the gym to confront Kathy about her poor management skills. She then claimed that she had no idea this happened and acted like the victim since everything she initiated back fired in her face. My family and I felt picked on and discriminated in so many ways especially since we were one of the few minorities at the gym and were the only ones being spotlighted on. Therefore, we decided to quit the gym at the end of this month all together. The last week before our membership was going to end, one of the other sales accountant, Kenneth MOULAISON, was on duty for the weekend. He decided to build a stage in the middle of the basketball court for a Zumba party that was going to take place at night. Keep in mind that there is a routine where CAC members have a basketball game in the afternoon every weekend...so naturally, all the basketball players were very upset and complaining and showing their frustration towards Kenneth. However, when my dad made one comment "this is bs", Kenneth attacked my dad and threatened to call the cops on him, and then decided to call the cops to feel more authoritative. He then lied to the cops claiming that my dad was threatening him even though there were a good number of witnesses that saw that my dad DID NOTHING threatening to Kenneth in any way. With the cops, Kenneth felt even more powerful and decided to come harass my brother and I and kicked us out too for DOING NOTHING! He claimed my brother threatened him too when my brother made one simple comment saying "poor management". Then he came up to me while I was lifting weights with his hands on his hips and a pretentious attitude and asked "are you going to start trouble too???". I told him he was the one that initiated all the trouble...Apparently that is threatening to him too, so he had a cop escort my 100lb body out. The fact that we've been with the gym for so long, we have a lot of close connections and friendships at the gym. I know there are many furious families out there, and I would like to thank them for all standing up for us and deciding to leave the gym due to the discrimination inequality, and poor management.
And for those that are planning to join this gym, let me help you save some time and tell you that IT WILL BE THE WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!!!!! I am still shocked an appalled by how they handled the situation. My family and I have never felt this disrespected and insulted. These people there are villainous, manipulating, devious, and untrustworthy..They will find ways to try to screw you over. Also, the women that work in their offices dress so unprofessionally. It is embarassing to have them represent CAC...ladies, it's an ATHLETIC club, NOT A NIGHT CLUB.

This is the worst athletic club in terms of price and staff helpfulness. I originally joined the CAC in Lodo and thought it was a really nice club in terms of aesthetics. But whenever I needed anything from the staff at the front counter (I mean any little question) no one knew anything! They would always refer me to call or e-mail someone else. Why does CAC have people at the front counter that cannot answer basic questions? One day I couldn't open my locker and I spent 1/2 hour in the lobby until they could even find anyone to help me. Just ridiculous!
After coming from 24 Hour Fitness for $23/month to paying over $90/month for this kind of service was a complete rip-off! WAY OVERPRICED! I realize that the establishment is a bit nicer, but that is just robbery - especially since the classes, etc., are essentially the same.
Two things that really did it for me was when I tried to change club locations to DTC and they told me I'd have to wait a month for it to take effect - give me a break! Just another customer service issue and it makes no sense. Then I cancel my contract early - needless to say they didn't say that they were going to charge a fee for cancelling the contract early - they sent me a bill in the mail for $360 for cancelling early?! Just the biggest scam of a health club on the planet!

Colorado Athletic Club DTC has been more than accomidating to me and my girlfriend. We have the passport which allows up to visit any of the 6 Colorado Locations. I dont understand these bad reviews! The staff is extremely nice, they offer a full line of social events, over 100 classes weekly (all included) the facility is maintained by a FULL TIME cleaning staff (these people wipe down the treadmills when you get off!)
These other reviews dont strike the right cord when discribing CAC. Please do not hesitate to try the 2 week trial as it is more than enough time to assess the club and what it offers. Also ask about corporate specials. The reps have freedom to discuss discounts with your HR dept to get you a better rate.
Yes, they do require that you put an acct on file to auto withdrawl- can someone please give me a company that doesnt do that? And can you name a fitness club that doesnt require some form of advanced notice of cancelation? Put simply, plan 1 month ahead. If you cancel in January you are billed for February. This is on the contract, which I read through in 3 minutes.
Yes CAC is a premiere athletic club. If you have been a member of a low end $30 a month club before you will know the difference immediately. Less crowds, cleaner facilty, full service locker room. You get 2 FREE Personal Training sessions upon joining.
All in all, you get what you pay for. These other negative reviews are from people who didnt read their contract, dealt with a human being on a bad day, or are just the type to never be satisfied.
Where to start our membership was put through WITHOUT a signature. Yeah that's against the law! My family was NOT members but they made us AND charged us. Again I say WITHOUT a signature. Hmmmm needless to say that woman is no longer with the company.
Facility is big but not impressive, for the money it's not worth it.
These people are terrible to do business with they are NOT interested in what you have to offer. They tie your hands. They promise you things that cannot be offered. Will not work with you if you are not a member. Then they have a contract and they do NOTHING for you. All deals are off. Just another scamming gym.
The facility is not nice it's large but it's not high end by any means and for being such an elite gym they really drop the ball.
Save yourself the buck and the headache and join a better nicer gym for cheaper and don't even think about approaching them with a business offer. You will spin your wheels.
