Whenever I am in the mood for Japanese food or Sushi I always want it to be Yokohama. The food is amazing. Ive been a regular customer since it opened. I admit I enjoy it so much more now that it is owned by the Sushi chef “Debbie” and her husband. The service has improved and so has the Regular Japanese cuisine.. they have a great kitchen chef now to. Debbie has invented her own special roll cleverly named?...the “Debbie Roll”.. and its really a treat…it’s a great roll to order since it seems to be able to be done quickly and its priced more like an appetizer than a regular roll. Her kitchen chef has introduced a “Sizzling Udon” plate that is a unbelievable. It’s a chicken or shrimp or steak dish and similar to a sizzling dish you would get anywhere else except that its Japanese flavorings and thick noodles and veggies…. Really good…they also have a “Sizzling steak “ dish now…wow is the only word good enough for that one.. All in all my very favorite place to go. I recommend it to all my friends and I imagine you will to after you try it. Your friends will thank you for it…

My boyfriend took me to Yokoha...

My boyfriend took me to Yokohama in Greenwood yesterday and it was great. I had two of the signature rolls. One was called a Volcano that came in a triangular shaped aluminum foil wrap and had been heated so that the oil inside gave off an incredible food fragrance that made me even more anxious to try it than I had been told to expect by my BF. We also ordered a Godzilla. And it was delicious to. It was presented on a plate with a beautiful flower and a flashing light. I enjoyed the looks of my food and the fun almost as much as the taste and that’s a big deal to me.

The atmosphere of the place is very comfortable. Its located in older Greenwood Indiana in an old and beautiful house that’s been turned into this restaurant. The new owners Scott and Debbie are a very cute couple together…she is Japanese I think and he is an older white guy and they are very funny together. There is a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The place was very busy and the wait was a little more than I have had at other places. By the time I got the food I just didn’t care about the wait. I had a great time talking to the owner and the waitress.

This is the place to go …for great food and what I consider the kind of service that is lacking in other places. It doesn’t need to be “QUICK” just make it good and make me feel like I have not wasted my time being there. Thanks to everybody working there that was exactly what I got. I love this place and will go there as often as I can afford it.

I only recently discovered this place after driving by for months. I am very glad I stopped in. I usually like a small restaurant with great atmosphere and friendly people. I score on both counts. The food was great. I had teriyaki chicken that rocked. and a sushi roll called a crunch LA. It was the best sushi Ive ever had. You can see that the owners (who just bought the place a few months ago) have put a lot of effort into what they are doing there. I really liked them both. The lady is Named "Debbie" and she is such a cutie. She had me laughing so hard I couldnt quit. She is a tiny little woman and gives her husband such a hard time its so funny. He seems to take her in stride and they are clearly happy to be together and happy with what they are doing. Debbie did a couple of cheesy magic tricks but they were fun and she can talk a blue streak. her accent is a little difficult but its cute. This place really is like having someone from your family own a restaurant. I tried a few things Debbie and her Kitchen chef were making.. "for free" and they were great. Hope they make it to the menu...The menu is already huge but hey all of it sounds good and if its like what I had that night...ill be back as often as I can...A little pricy but the food and the whole experience really made it worth it to me...

Ive been hearing about this place now for almost three month from all my friends. I have laughed at them as if they were cult members the enthusiasm was almost ridiculous. Now that Ive eaten there they have a new recruit for their cult following. The owners bought the place a few months ago and took it over from someone apparently not well liked by most customers...mostly my friends. The food however has always been great so ive been told. Anyway. the food NOW is incredible. My wife ate from the kitchen menu and had something they just added called a "sizzling yaki udon" plate.. It came out on a sizzling plate similar to the ones you see at most mexican restaurants for fajitas. Yes, it was SIZZLING...and it was delicious. It comes in choices of beef, chicken or shrimp.. My wife asked and they included a combo and added scallops...I had two of their house signature rolls ..one callled a volcano and one thats named after the sushi chef (and new owner) a "Debbie" roill...they bother were amazing...everything here is fresh and so many things are homemade. The salad dressing and gyoza and especially the spring rolls...WOW. Ive had become a die hard fan of this place. The owners have a policy that every customer is like family and they dont just say it they seem to live it.. Ive never felt so comfortable so quickly. Friendly beyond belief. They do get busy there and sometimes the sushi is a little slow getting there. The atmosphere and the food itself makes up for any wait. I thought the prices were a little high...but after the experience...and seein some of what they go through to keep the quality up...its worth every cent.. Ill pay the litt;le extra...to have the GREAT extra.... highly recommend this place...nope...challenge you NOT to enjoy yourself here...

I had an incredible meal and a great time here. The food was unbelievably the best Japanese food Ive ever had. The owners as of February 2011 are great. This place got terrible reviews before these two took over. Its the same great sushi chef (she bought it) and her husband. so it was a great time. Ill be back as often as I can...I loved it..

New and improved!

Things have luckily changed since the last time I came here. There is a new lady owner that is extremely friendly and polite. Plenty of waitresses running around on busy Fridays and Saturdays to ensure good timely service. My food was ordered and received in a timely fashion regardless of the place being completely packed. I recommend this place to anyone that has never tried great quality sushi (far beyond what buffets can offer). I am very happy with what this place has become and I will surely start coming more regularly.

Don't go...there are too manu good sushi places in INDY, why waste your time here?

My wife and I ate there 2/3/2010 and the waitress was truely rude! What a lousy experience. My wife wanted COOKED fish (not raw) and asked the Japaneese waitres for a recommendation. She checked 2 items on the menu, my wife chose 1 of her two recommendations. When it came, the fish was RAW. Waitress said it was "half-cooked", pointing out that the assparagus, rice and cream cheese was cooked. She accussed us of wanting "free food". Refused to take it back as we "ordered it". Said my wife could order another item, which "you pay for it too". We did not want free food, my wife wanted cooked fish as she had asked. I asked for the check and they brought our coats with the check too, to get rid of us. Never eat here!!!! With service like this they surely can not survive??

Awesome sushi

We really enjoy the sushi here. They have a great variety and is always fresh. I really enjoy the dragon roll and ads crunchy, but I enjoyed everything I've eaten here. I would definitely recommend it.

Sushi Lover

As much as I love Sushi, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Unless of course you like being insulted and embarassed.Just try complaining one time there and see what happens.

Disgusted

Food could have been served quicker, but was still quite good. The service is getting much worse since I've been eating there. The Asian lady is a bit much to take, over-bearing and at times very rude, with a very loud mouth.Hate to see such a nice place go down hill so fast.

Could be better!

I've eaten here several times and the sushi is always great. However, it seems each time I go the service gets worse. I also think they need to have some cheaper lunch specials. I normally only get 1 roll and soup and its always over $10.
