Having lived in NC, GA, FL, TX, VA, and now IN, we have attended many, many wonderful churches, but none compares to MPCC. If you want a church who truly lives the Great Commission...this is it. There is a place for you to serve the local church, the greater community, the inner city, the nation, AND the world here. If you want to worship in Spirit and in Truth... this is it. Come worship with us on the weekends. If you want a place to serve as the hands and feet of Christ...this is it. There are limitless opportunities within innumerable ministries! If you want a place to be continually challenged to grow in knowledge and faith in your walk with Christ...this is it. Join a Bible study and sign up for Soul Care. If you want to be a part of the Body of Christ... this is it. Get involved with a Home Group. And, if you want perfect? This is not it... because each one of us is merely a flawed disciple of Jesus Christ, saved by His grace, for His purposes. If you, too, are imperfect, you will fit right in. If you have been praying for a sign...THIS IS IT!

My husband and I visited for the first time this past Sunday. We have been looking for a church after moving here recently. We were so impressed by the caliber of teaching by the senior pastor. It was obvious that he has a strong conviction to preach the truth of scripture. We both have degrees in Biblical studies and really appreciated how carefully he interpreted the texts and explained them in a way that was easy to understand and apply. To us (we are younger) the worship was stylistically more traditional with contemporary touches but was done with excellence and we appreciated that the set wasn't narcissistic lyrically. It was a great blend of contemporary songs and a couple of older tunes. It was easy to find the nursery for our baby and felt that the care was excellent. We will be back and may make this our home church!

Ambitious Church

We've been attending Mt. Pleasant for several years. The Senior Pastor, Chris Philbeck, is an incredibly inspirational speaker. The music is moving - there are some very talented folks in the music ministry. The atmosphere of the church is warm and welcoming - guests are encouraged.
One thing I've observed, though, is that the church seems to try to take on too much. There is a lot going on at Mt. Pleasant. We've made inquiries about various opportunities/ministries via e-mail and phone; and, it either takes many weeks to get a response - or, in some instances, we never received a response. I think a good analogy would be when an individual over-commits or over-extends themselves; they soon find that they're overwhelmed. There are a lot of very good and generous people at Mt. Pleasant. However, it takes more than money and people willing to donate to effectively implement/manage many of these initiatives. Somethimes it is better to do fewer things very well, than a multitude of things marginally.

Great for all ages!

I'm a high school student, and I've attended this church for almost longer than I can remember. I've always found that it has excellent messages filled with passion for God and for helping others around them. The student ministries incorporate a new and very updated building and activities into the message, and it encourages people to bring their friends. The pastors are all incredible, including those at the adult level, and the passion for God is clear everywhere!

God filled church

A wonderful family church to visit or to become a member. They offer great ministries to the young and old. Two of these blessings include a clothing ministry and a food pantry ministry. Both ministries are founded upon and ran according to God's Word. The clothing ministry, In His Name, is completely furnished by the church members and community. ALL items are free to those in need. When they are overflowing with items--they get bundled up and shipped all over the world to those in need. Truly an international ministry! The food pantry is growing weekly and is a blessing to over 50 families weekly. Their ministries know no boundaries. A true example of following the Word of God and ministering throughout the nations. God Bless.

All Heart!

I would have to completely disagree with the previous post. Mount Pleasant IS God's church. I've attended the church for the past year and a half. My family loves it and not just for the activities, etc. Mount Pleasant is a church that actually preaches God's word; where sermons are based and taught from the Bible. That is so hard to find in today's world. I attended several churches before finding my home here and the reason I chose to worship at Mount Pleasant is because of the strong teachings and heartfelt sermons. So many churches today are all about ""feeling good"" and not learning anything about the Bible. Mount Pleasant has contributed greatly to its communities and around the world...Mount Pleasant Christian Church may indeed have big pockets, but it has an even bigger HEART!

Not for true disciples

This is a country club. Great if you are looking for kids programs, sports, anything but true commitment to JESUS. I agree with previous post. NOT spirit led or filled. This is mans church, not God's.

Not for the spiritually mature

Worship was ok, preaching ok, but the presence of God was missing. Don't believe in several of the gifts of spirit being active, including prophesy, healing, tongues.
