My builder installed a microwave with a scratched door in our new home, which was agreed to be replaced ASAP. The builder said that Whirlpool would call me to set up the repair. Whirlpool called me 10 days after closing and scheduled the repairs via Groves. Groves called the day they were scheduled to come and said they didn't have the door and they'd order it and call to reschedule. I tried to contact them 3 weeks later via both email and phone, neither of which they responded to. I had to get my builder involved again and they finally called me and said they had the door and I scheduled the first available appointment they had. The repair man (Chris) just arrived at my home, but won't install the door because he said it is out of the 30 day whirlpool warranty. He's just standing in my kitchen on hold with whirlpool because he says they have to approve the repair. He had a bad attitude with me from the minute he walked through my door and on the phone with Whirlpool he just told them that it was out of warranty, not going into the details of the situation. I asked if I could speak with them and he said absolutely not, even though he refused to give them the whole story. He got aggressive towards me and I asked him to leave my home immediately, which he did. I called Groves and reported the situation, but nothing has been done as far as repairing my damaged door.

The service man after me telling him the problem he explained some of the problems and explained how to eliminate the problems I was having. He also explained to me that these washers are not made to work on and a lot of the problems are caused by the government wanting them to do things differently than the appliances did 10 years ago. They were designed for energy & water conservation and not necessarily to clean clothes like they use too. Pretty much according to the service rep it depended on how the machine is loaded and then how well the washer did a good job or not. The machines are set up to conserve water and get your clothes as clean as possible but the idea is to conserve water. He seemed honest about it, I will continue to try and adjust how I do laundry until I get fed up and set it out for the junk man.

I'm delighted with Groves Appliance Repair. They told me there would be a $65 service charge for the visit, but before they showed up, they made sure that parts were still made for my (old Kenmore) washer so we wouldn't waste the $65. When the technician came, he made a few adjustments to fix the problem and didn't charge us a dime for labor, since no new parts were needed. Honest, reliable folks who won't fleece you!

Overall

Have used Groves in the past and have been happy with them. This time however is a different story. 1st they misdiagnosed the problem and ordered the wrong part and 2nd when they reordered we were told the Company shipped the wrong part. As of today we've been without our dishwasher 11 days and are told it could be another 5 days. We are at the point of having to pull information from them as they don't call back when they say they will. I like the people but the service has gotten very poor.
