When I went in a few years ago, the shop was no longer run by original owner. For more than 40 years to absolute perfection had many shoes repaired, heel replaced, taps, re-soled, and pocketbooks repaired at this shop. Sorry to hear this iconic shoe repair shop has closed. One of the last of its kind. We only miss and appreciate the old masters after they're gone.
the best I ever used for repair ... and I might add customer service A+++++>
This store is now closed (June 2014). It was my favorite repair shop, with plenty of character and expertise. I wish you well in your retirement!
When I google for a shoe repair shop, Cecil's Shoe Repair came up. I saw it had one BAD review. Despite that, I went anyway and didn't know what to expect. I took in a belt to get more holes punched on it. The gentleman came out from the back room and ask who's next? I went up to the counter and told him what I needed. He punched 3 holes on my belt in front of me and say no charge maam. He said it didn't take him long to do that. Now that's customer service and a great way to earn new business! I will definitely go back to have my shoes and leather goods repair there.
