NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THIS DAYCARE.About a year ago I met Janet who was the manager there. She was so kind and full of love. She always treated me kindly and with respect. She was terminated. The whole atmosphere changed overnight.I get a phone call saying that my one-year-old son is being kicked out of daycare. Solverus Christian Academy on East North Street. They claim to be a Christian facility. They claim to represent compassion and love as God does. Everytime I pick my son up I asked how is he doing, they say oh Michael did great today. Yet I have a stack of incident reports at least 3 times a week he gets hurt. His teacher says the other kids provoke him that's why sometimes he hits at them, they say oh it's just the age. Now all of a sudden two parents somehow get my son kicked out for bad behavior when I'm told that he's doing great. I was not given one warning, nor was I ever told that my son was going to be kicked out due to bad behavior. On top of that I was told that when I picked them up last week the teacher told me Michael pulled her glasses off and supposedly I laughed at them and walked out the door this is a lie and never happened I was never told anything even remotely close to that. He has bruises on his face cuts on his forehead all of this happened at daycare now he's getting kicked out. A 1 year old. I am appalled. I would suggest to never take your child to this day care they are incompetent. Please share this with anyone in the upstate of South Carolina who is seeking daycare. Find somewhere else.
This school advertises as a STEM school however their lab facilities for science are no better or less than nearby non STEM schools. It also supposedly emphasizes Math, however only a small select group of children receive intense math training and compete in math competitions and appear to be exclusively boys. They also go on sleepover trips. This school has very high test scores, which is interesting given the diverse and varied student body. It is a public charter, so supposedly anyone can apply and is suppose to be given a slot when available or through the lottery. That doesn't appear to add up. If you want to learn Turkish, which from what I can ascertain of the job market in this area, would be of no benefit, then you'll be all set at this school. The only other language they offer is Spanish and in middle school they are REQUIRED to do one semester of Turkish. Why? They offer very few sports, not as many extra curricular activities as surrounding schools. No bus transportation as it is a charter school, so don't bother applying if you can't drive your child to school. A few of the teachers that are from Turkey or other surroundings countries, spoke broken English at best. I would think a teacher teaching at a US school should be fluent in English? Evidently not there. Noticed a good bit of teacher turnover rate in the past couple of years. You would think working at a small charter school with smaller class sizes would be appealing to most any teacher. Hmm. Wouldn't recommend this school.
Our son attended SolVerus Christian Academy for 3 years. His transition into kindergarten was easy, he was very well prepared for that. SolVerus has a complete program that helps children to develop all the aspects necessary to learn well and build a great foundation for years to come. We were extremely happy with our choice and glad that our son had spent his preschool years in a friendly, safe and nurturing environment while developing all necessary skills to face elementary school. We miss all of the staff at SolVerus. They were like family to usl!!
This was my daughter's first preschool experience. She started at SolVerus as soon as she turned 16 months. From the tour, to the enrollment process, to the first few days, all the staff members and administration were patient, sweet and always had a smile on their faces. I was very pleased to find out that Ms. Yvonne was very accommodating with the needs of my child (which is one of the most important aspects for me as a parent). As an early childhood educator myself, I can spot a high quality preschool program as soon as I step in a preschool. I realized that Solverus is one of those programs. Their research based curriculum help children blossom in all aspects of development. The classrooms have age-appropriate materials and equipment. The daily schedule, activities, and discipline policy is age-appropriate as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this preschool as a great place for a child to blossom!
My son Hayden has thrived and made major development strides since he's been here. The teachers and staff are amazing people who really care about the children! I am so pleased with my choice.
My daughter has attended Montessori School of Greenville for 5 years. She has had a wonderful experience there. We are moving away and I hate that she won't be able to complete her last year there. Thank you for such a great experience there.
My son has been at ECAC for almost 2 years. They have went through a lot of changes. New director and new staff but still the great staff they had before on hand. I've never had an issue with the care my son has received there. He loves going to play with his friends and learn. I only had one concern once and brought it up and it was taken care of no questions asked.
My daughter has learned so much since attending this preschool we are truly blessed to have found such a wonderful place for our little one...she loves going to school and truly loves her teachers she talks about them all the time and the administration staff is extremely professional and care about the value of the children and their education.
Overall, this is a wonderful school to attend. This school is amazing! It offers a lot of tools available to anyone.
