My husband and I have passed by Mama Marie's several times and decided to try it last night. I ordered the Greek sampler and everything on the plate was awful. My husband even tried it and agreed it was not fit to eat. I told the waitress and she offered to bring me something else, so I ordered eggplant parmesean. It was terrible as well! It was mushy and had so much cheese I could barely chew and swallow it. Even the garlic bread was awful. We got our check and stood at the register a good 5-7 minutes before someone came to help us. I told the lady that we shouldn't have to pay for my food because I took 2 bites of it. She went and got the owner and he was the rudest person we have ever encountered! He wanted to know what we expected and let us know we could go somewhere else. He doesn't have anything to worry about because we would never go back there. He never once apologized. We have never been treated so poorly or had such horrible food.

This USED to be my favorite restaurant. I have been eating here since 1993. I was there on 5/15/15 and ordered a plate with clams, scallops and shrimp in spicy garlic butter sauce over linguini. There were 4 scallops (not very large), 4 shrimp (not very large) and canned minced clams (yuk). The sauce was not spicy. The price was $15.95 for this rip off dinner. The garlic rolls which used to melt in your mouth were dry and the salad was a bunch of white bitter lettuce with not much else. Not sure if I will return again. I did not say anything at the time because my son took me there for a Mother's Day gift and I did not want him to feel bad.
I have to say this is my favorite restaurant hands down... I see some of the old reviews are pretty bad but in 2015 I can tell you carrabbas management and waiters go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. The food is consistently delicious. I always get the chicken trio and fresh fettuccini Alfredo. No boxed pasta here. Awesome food, awesome service. Seriously . I always come with my husband and 3 toddlers and everyone is always so kind and accommodating. Looooovve this restaurant and the renovations look awesome.
It was very good. I would go back.
Better than chain pizza places!
My fav Italian in Greenville. Excellent service, quality, & great menu at a reasonable price. Skip the chains & go here for "genuine" Italian.
Place exists in old Pizza Hut...enough said. Don't waste your time.
My family and I have been regular diners at Davani's for several years and have never been disappointed. It's been our "go to" spot for business dinners, family events, and special occasions. It's always fresh, unique, delicious, and served with great style. Plus they've got a nice wine list and THE BEST Osso Bucco in town.
What a snooty place! This has got to be the only pretentious place in Greenville. My wife and I came to Greenville for the weekend from Atlanta for a romantic getaway. We saw this restaurant on the first night here and walked in for dinner. They turned us away because we didn’t have a reservation. The little 10 table restaurant was half-full, but still…no reservation, no dinner. Regardless, we decided to make our reservation for the following night and come back (mistake). After coming back for dinner the next night, I can say definitively that I will never go back as long as I live. We should have walked out as the waiter was going over the specials and looked down his nose at us and demanded that I remove my hat. Seriously? There is nothing posted anywhere about a dress code or removing “head coverings”, and you’re going to demand that I remove my hat? First, your restaurant is sandwiched between a burger joint and a sports bar in a college town. More importantly, the “gentleman” sitting at the next table over was wearing camo pants and a t-shirt. Why not demand that he take off his pants?! If not for my wife’s desire to continue with dinner, I would have walked out. After eating the fare, I wish we had. I had the lamb which ended up chewy with lots of fat and connective tissue. Yuk. And what was the lamb served on? A bed of rice? Potatoes? No…a bed of bagged salad! I can’t make this up! It was literally served on top of a bed of obvious salad mix. Next to that was grilled vegetables that were so over-cooked and mushy that they barely held their shape. My wife’s said her pasta was ok, but it’s hard to screw up pasta. Just so no one thinks that I’m slamming the food over the service, I can say that the chocolate mousse was very good. Unfortunately, it’s not a desert place…it’s an Italian restaurant.Bottom line - if you want to feel “looked down on” and over-pay for sub-par food, then come on down to Trattoria Giorgio. But if you are looking for a nice night out and good food, please look somewhere else.
