SPRINGEOOD APT;S 410 SULPHUR SPRINGS RD;GREENVILLE SC; INFESTED WITH BED BUG;S;MAQNG; WO;NT NDO ANYTHING ABOUT IT ;
I love these apts. and love to be notified for availability of a one bedroom,asap!
These apartments are bedbug and cockroach infested. The management does their best to remedy the problem, but simple heat treatments and pesticides are not enough. The pests just travel from one unit to another. No matter how clean or uncluttered you keep your unit, the problems still exist. Many tenants are used to living with these pests and do not report it as they should. It is obvious that the tenants do not care where they reside because trash is always in the parking lot and surrounds the dumpsters. Parents send their children to carry out heavy trash bags that never make it in the dumpster so the neighborhood strays and wildlife get into the bags stringing trash every where. During the summer, the pool is closed constantly due to residents swimming in their clothing (I mean completely dressed down to socks) which alter the chemicals/pH balance in the pool. One slide on the playground is made of sheet metal which is extremely hot during the summer, but the management did install a newer playground closer to the pool area. The management does strive to do their best to repair issues, but are lacking on maintenance staff. Because of the age of these apartments the windows and door frames are a source of energy loss all season. If you happen to opt for a "renovated" unit, you will receive new lighting/faucet fixtures, door knocker, new carpet, tile (not new) flooring in dinning area, hallways, and bathrooms. The appliances will be outdated. Units with "laundry rooms" are tight so if you own a newer washer/dryer I suggest you check dimensions first. Within the "laundry room" the furnace is housed also and the condensation from the ac just leaks into a hole in the floor which smells awful during the winter. I had to pour pure bleach down into the hole to stop the smell 1-2 times a week. The management installed water saving shower heads and faucet fixtures that spray water everywhere if turned up too much. Taking a shower means using the hot water more because it is like a mist of cold needles, in turn, raising the power bill. Hopefully the new investor/management will get wise and just tent each building and gas it to rid them of pest at one time.
They evict anyone they don't like!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!! Bugs every where, refused to fix our garbage disposal. Also had our ac break and we had to hound them to fix it. It was summer and I am pregnant again! Car battery was stolen and they refused to warn others and have no security cameras!! Strange people also approach you at night. I lost my daughter and they had no pity! Me and my husband had so much grief and instead THEY TELL US THEY'RE TRYING THEIR BEST TO EVICT US! And we weren't the only ones.. When we spoke to the rm manager about our late rent she said we had til Friday. Instead she went back on her word and had us evicted! Funny thing is that they had already put our apartment up for lease for someone else before we even had late pay! Cindy the manager is NOt manager material and a complete b*#ch. They also say things are on the lease when they are not! The the monthly bill constantly goes up and down as well! We had a $687 apartment and somehow we were paying close to $900 every month. Glad to say we're not living there anymore!
Been with this place for almost 3 years. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a long-term rental. The area, staff, and apartments are nice, though the apartments are a little dated (built in the 80's I think). But it has gotten more and more expensive every year. I first moved in @620 for my place, and rent has gone up every year, to my latest lease being just over 800, now that they've started billing for garbage and pest control, which used to be included. I'm looking to buy a house, but if I want to do a short-term lease or break a long lease early, the costs become astronomical. 1k to leave early, and you still have to give 60 days notice.
The apartment itself is a pretty good price considering the size. Pretty good location, but the apartments are pretty old. At one point our roof was leaking from hard thunderstorms. They just redid all the roofs so that shouldn't happen again, but the complex was nice enough to let the people fixing the roof stay above us. Can anyone guess how obnoxious and loud those people were despite mulitple complaints? You would think the apt would make some sort of concession in the rent, but nope no chance. Just repeated apologies over and over. The reason I give it 2 stars though is the renewal process we just went through. We originally signed for 684 last year. In order to get the lowest rate we had to resign 3 months early. The lowest rate went up to $715 despite the fact they told us at most it would go up by 5%. We talked to them and they said they could drop it to $705. So we go in and start filling out the paperwork and after signing half of the lease..."oh and there has been a fee added for pest removal and increase in utilities". So despite being told $705 originally, in the middle of already filling out the half lease the price goes up from $705 to $717. Still not horrible for a 2 bedroom but the way they decieved us during the whole process was very very frustating.
