We have a 5 year old Craftsman tractor that had a Carburetor issue (we knew it was). I called Sears Repair in early September. They sent a repair man to "check it out" on Sept 19 (about 3 weeks after my call) who told us "Yup, you have a bad carburetor) and to order the part. He had a part with him, but the number didn't quite match the old one. The part came within a few days, but the repair man could not get back to us until Oct. 18 (a month later). The part I ordered turned out to be the same as the part he already had. Now the tractor has been fixed; just in time for us to stop mowing for the winter! The repair man was great....but the Sears repair system just doesn't work. Had I not had another tractor, which by the way was one year old when the frame BROKE in half and was replaced by warranty after several weeks (they had to have someone look at that too before ordering a new one under our warranty.....too long), we would have had grass up to the top of the house. We are done with Sears; will never buy from them or use their repair services again.

We purchased a free standing ice maker in 2014. In 2016 it stopped making ice and we called for service. After the initial call it was determined the compressor was bad but still under a 5 year warranty. It took six visits to get it working but it failed again 5 days later. It is now repaired after the 8th visit on Aug. 23. I repeatedly asked Sears to replace the unit (we also had an extended warranty that was purchased after the 4th visit). However they explained the unit could not be replaced until after 4 additional visits. The unit is currently working and our fingers are crossed that this will continue. The service techs were really nice and good to work with but their hands were tied. This was not a good experience and we were disappointed that Sears did not step up and replace the unit.
