I love Marriott properties. . .usually. When reservations were needed for out-of-town guests, I immediately selected the Downtown Marriott because of its proximity to certain facilities. I should have done more research by visiting the hotel personally. If I had, I would have seen that the front doors, windows, and outside entreway needed cleaning and the stains on the back of chairs in the lobby. The bathroom floor "feel" clean; I had to spray Lysol on all room surfaces for my mom's comfort. We found leftover water in the ice bucket and the tv did not work properly. The vagrant at the front of the building repeatedly asked for money each time he saw us. My mom refused to move to another hotel. With temps in the upper 90s and with her heart condition, the strain would have been too much. However, I felt bad that I picked a questionable room (without a fridge!) for her two-night stay. So, while the service was great (the staff corrected the reported problems quickly; the desk staff was professional and knowledgeable), I can not recommend the hotel. For a hotel to be downtown and representing Greensboro, it should be spic and span. Sigh.
Recently on a trip to North Carolina, I had the good fortune of reserving a room at the Comfort Suites near the Greensboro NC Airport. I can honestly say, I've stayed at some beautiful hotels in my lifetime, but none any better than this GORGEOUS hotel!! Not only was the bed the most comfortable that I've slept on in years, but the gentleman that worked the front desk was AWESOME!! He checked me in and asked about the car I was driving (for the registration). When he learned that I had a rental car, he offered to have me return the car THAT NIGHT and provided a shuttle from the airport back to the hotel AT NO CHARGE (the hotel picked up the cost!). He then went further and arranged for a shuttle to pick me up at 4:30 the next morning to take me back to the airport for my 5:30 am flight!! Now THAT's customer service!! To top it all, I paid a VERY LOW RATE for my stay!! All of that is why from this day forward, COMFORT INN will be my FIRST and ONLY choice when I'm traveling!
This is the worse place to stay i will never recommend anyone to stay here if you don't want nosy neighbors then find a different and much better hotel to stay in for a month or weekly I'd rather be at a Extended Stay not this crappy Choice Extended Stay when i want toilet paper they charge you 1.50 for four rolls of toilet paper you can get that at Walmart for $1 there a rip off here for 1 roll it's 50¢ each that's wack cause at Scottish Inn they don't charge you anytime you want toilet paper they'll give you it there nicer there and more peaceful there then here and people don't get in your business like they do here and the security guard here isn't nice either i wouldn't trust him for nothing and he better not be disrespectful to my mom and my sister again i hope he gets fired
I visit Greensboro about 6 times a year and have stayed at Fairview Inn many times. It's a nice place for a great price. Rooms are clean and when I was there right after Christmas, they had new bedding -- feather duvets! Nice! the breakfast buffet is really nice, as is the staff.
THE DRIVER WAS COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL, ACCOMODATING AND ON TIME. MY EXPERIECE TO THE HOCKEY GAME AT THE RBC IN RALEIGH, NC WAS MORE THAN A JUST A RIDE BUT AN ADVENTURE. YOU WILL NOT FIND A FINER SERVICE IN NORTH CAROLINA.
Since the last time I went, they have completely remodeled ... looks nice! Nice staff. Good prices. Great location, close to the Coliseum. Mini-fridges & microwaves available. Would recommend.
my third visit to this location, staff was very pleasant, rooms were very clean, would definately come back again
Free drinks. Free breakfast and dinner. Walls are thin and tv's are tube tv's, but the good far outways the bad.
Employees were too rude & nosy(they went in my room ea. time i left to go out & about.
