Shorter hours and not open on Saturdays anymore

When this branch started closing at 4pm (just before Christmas, of all times) it made it hard for people to mail packages and buy stamps (2 cent stamps). But they were open Saturdays so that was fine and they had a stamp machine in their lobby. Now they are closed on Saturdays and when I went there after work on Thursday I noticed there's no stamp machine in the lobby anymore. This post office is on my way home from work which made it easy for me to just run in, do what I had to do and go home (others are out of my way and there are no other mailing services except for FedEx in my area). I work normal hours (which is the same hours the post office is open). It is ridiculous that the post office is not being accommodating to the public. They have less of a work load now than they did before but I'm sure the price of stamps will continuously rise.
