        About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

        Tips & Advice

How can drivers find the cheapest gas prices?

Driver can find the cheapest gas prices by using an app to search for the lowest prices in their area.  Some apps such as Gas Guru take note of your location, and provide a list of gas stations nearby, along with the cost of gas currently being sold at each station.

Is it possible to improve a vehicle's fuel efficiency?

There are things you can do to slightly improve the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. Make sure your car's tires are properly inflated, and treat your engine to regular tune-ups. Check your engine's air filter, since a dirty air filter will compromise fuel economy.

Why must drivers shut off their engine before pumping gas?

Drivers must shut their engine off before pumping gas because it's illegal to fuel with the engine running, even though this law isn't always aggressively enforced. Pumping gas with the engine running can compromise your safety. When your car's engine is running, it's possible for its catalytic converters to generate heat that could ignite gasoline, and start a fire.

Can cell phones ignite a gasoline vapor fire?

Even though many gas stations have warnings advising you not to use your cell phone while fueling, the chances of cell phones igniting a gasoline vapor fire are extremely remote. However, fires at the gas pump may be caused by static electricity discharge. For safe fueling, it's recommended that you turn off your car's engine and avoid smoking at the pump. Also, you should never re-enter your vehicle while refueling.

Why are gas prices not uniform, even across same-brand stations?

Many factors contribute to the lack of uniformity in gas prices. Retailers consider their tax responsibilities when setting gas prices. States place varying taxes on gasoline retailers, and a state with higher taxes will have higher gas prices than a state in which the taxes are lower. Also, if a gas station is located in an especially competitive area, a branded operator may receive wholesale discounts that allow the station to sell gas at a lower price. This is done by brands to keep their gas competitive in tight markets.

Is there a difference between brands of gasoline?

There are minor differences between brands of gasoline. Fuel stations get their gas from refineries. Once the stations receive the gas, many enhance the gas with additives that are designed to improve cleaning and performance. The additives used vary from brand to brand, and higher-priced gas has more additives than gas sold at off-brand gas stations. While additive-enhanced gas may offer marginal benefits, using cheaper gas with fewer additives won't harm your engine.

Why are cash prices lower at gas stations?

Cash prices are lower at gas stations because they don't include the bank fees that are charged to gas stations when credit cards or debit cards are used. With credit cards, these fees typically average about 2 percent of the transaction cost. Some states prohibit gas stations from passing these fees on to consumers via surcharges, but it is perfectly legal for gas stations to offer discounts to those who are paying with cash.

What is the difference between diesel fuel and gasoline?

Both diesel fuel and gasoline are manufactured from crude oil, but gasoline is lighter and less dense than diesel. Relative to diesel, gasoline also tends to be more volatile and more flammable. Since diesel is denser, it provides more energy per gallon, and this is one factor behind the high mileage offered by many diesel-powered vehicles.

Is it worth paying the extra money for higher octane gasoline?

It is worth paying the extra money for higher octane gasoline in some cases. If higher octane gasoline is required for use by the vehicle's manufacturer, it's recommended that you follow this guideline. Using  low octane gas in a vehicle that is meant to use fuel of a higher octane, will have a negative effect on the vehicle's performance and fuel economy. However, gas with a higher octane rating than a car's manufacturer requires, will offer little or no benefit under normal driving conditions.

Which octane gasoline is right for my car?

Different cars have different requirements when it comes to gasoline octane, and you should use the octane rating that is required by your vehicle's manufacturer. A fuel's octane rating is a measure of how well it resists knocking and pinging during the combustion process. Most cars use 87 octane, but some cars are built to use higher octane gas.

Avoid this towing company at all costs. They will scam you the first chance they get.I went there to pickup my car and was told that I needed to be back by a certain time with a specific amount. I came back before that certain time with that specific amount only to find out from a different employee that I was given the wrong information and there was nothing they could do. I had to walk back to the bank to get the extra money they charged for storage so I could get my car back.I was told that I would have to contact the manager about this so I did. After several weeks of avoiding my calls and not getting back to me, I finally get a hold of him only to find out that he did not talk to any of the employees about it even though the several I talked to before that said they would give him the message.I even talked to the women who originally told me the wrong information and she said that she would let him know that she did tell me the wrong time. The manager either did not get the message or did not care about the message. It is clear that this company does not care about the customer. Even if their employees provide the customer with wrong information, they don't care. If you are looking for a fair and friendly towing service, don't go here. They are far from friendly and they should be known as Bobby's Scam Towing & Recovery.

It was about 3 years ago that I was there. In that time I was new in the USA. I had purchased a car and was looking for somewhere to check tires. Unfortunately I found there and ask to check pressure air. After he took my car in, he came back and said there are 3 nail in your tires and you have to replace the tires, also you need alignment for $80. I asked to do alignment. Then he came back and said your tires are in a very bad situation and I have to fix your control arm and if you don't do it, you are in danger. He explained there is a cone washer that is $30 but the labor is $400 to change it. I was afraid, so asked to fix it also fix tires without replacement. Finally he charged me $550 and I came out, but the car had vibration. He told me it would be gone but it didn't. After a few days I called him and told him still the car has vibration. He said bring your car and I will fix it for no charge. So I did. He took the car inside and after an hour he left the store. There was a guy there who was working for him, came and said we fix your car and it cost $160. I asked to talk to owner, because it suppose to be free. He said, he left and I will call him. After a few minutes that guy came and said your problem was baring and we fixed that, here is United State and noting is free. Also he mentioned this is a NAPA branch and this is a company policy. Finally I paid because he said they don't release the car until I pay full price. Imagine you pay $710 in less than a week for a pressure air checking. Now, I understand here is United State and I should aware of most of mechanics, but there is customer service also. Actually those tires still working and fortunately I didn't change tires in that time.

I’m going to be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My car was towed from my apartment complex this past Saturday (my fault because I forgot to put the parking pass up in my new car). I literally just bought the car and now there are huge scrapes underneath the front bumper from them towing my car. They claimed to have used a dolly but even if they did, the front end is still low to the ground. There is only ONE way the scratches could go in the direction that they are in, and that’s from being towed. The way the scratches are angled says it all. I called them to complain and they claim there is no way they could have done it, well of course they are going to claim that.

This mobile mechanic really knows what he is doing as he can fix about anything that is wrong with your vehicle. He installed an alternator for me on my vehicle and gets an A+++++++ all the way.

They use substandard parts and do very poor work. Wheel bearings should last 60000-80000 miles. They ones I had replaced in January 2017 lasted a mere 10 months, 13000 miles. The manager hid behind corporate policy claiming that their warranty was for only 12000 miles. I contacted the corporate office, which took a week to get a response. They offered a $50 gift card in compensation for a botched up job that cost almost $500. If this was the last mechanic on earth, I would trash my car and buy a new one before I took it here for service or repairs.

DO NOT COME HERE. The employees are dishonest. I went there for an oil change and asked if they could change the lightbulb in my brake light. they said sure no problem. Came back and said it isn't my light, the whole brake light is broken. Of course i believed and trusted them. When i finally got it replaced, it wasn't broken. They broke it. Broke a piece in half and then stuck a folded piece of paper in it to try and hold it together. While taking out that brakelight, NTB also broke my speaker in my trunk, broke the plastic surrounding my trunk. I can't afford to fix all of this. Don't come here. They are dishonest and not trustworthy.

Be careful! I pressed the button for regular gas (like I have for the past 15 years since I started driving) but was charged for Ultimate. When I brought the issue to their attention they told me the only option was to call the police. The manager also took a picture of me and wrote down my license number to intimidate me. I've never been treated so poorly in my life. The manager does not attempt to resolve issues, just tells you you have to call the police because she knows the police can't do anything. When I was bringing my issue to the cashier's attention and the cashier said "this has never happened", a person in line said "that's not true man, that lady last week had the same issue and you told her the same thing". Don't use this gas station.

        Did You Know?

        Finding An Auto Repair Professional

There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.

        Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.

That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.

A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.

        Understanding When There's An Issue

It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.

In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.

Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.

        Doing Your Own Auto Repair

Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.

        Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.

Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.

In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.

For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.

        Avoiding Scams
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.

While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.

Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.

The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.

By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
