Just trying to book a showing told me everything I needed to know about renting from this company. The woman gave me the run around at every turn telling me i couldnt afford it and saying they can't do holds after i had explained 3 times that I was not asking her to hold one nor had i even suggested that i needed that. She was very short and snippy with me when I was trying to schedule a viewing too. I could HEAR her eyes rolling. It was just an over all terrible customer service experience and not something anyone would want out of a landlord.
ONLY REASON FOR ONE STAR IS BECAUSE IT WAS REQUIRED!!Do not rent from this company they are slumlords. They will not fix anything no mattwr how many times you call about it, and after hours you can forget about because they dont answer. I have lived in a house they rent out for 4 years and they have not once fixed any problem i have had i the home. The bathroom has flooded numerous times, with water being left in between the wall of the bathroom and kitchen only to produce mold/mildew, the poles on the front porch have fallen and they refuse to fix it, there is a whole in the house outside of the storage room (unfixed), water sits in the pipes inside the house, siding is falling off the front of house, water is a yellow color all throughout the home. There is no i insulation in the home. I have contacted them numerous times about the issues but they continue to be unfixed.
Most terrible landlord I have ever had in my entire life. First off I am constantly harassed by the landlord driving by on a weekly basis and complaining about everything. Second, After my car had got in an accident and I had a rental car in the driveway, I had my car waiting in my back yard for the insurance payment to make repairs on it. My landlord complained within a few days that he did not like how my car made the place look like a junkyard and threatened to tow my car. In the end I ended up selling the wreck since the person who was at fault fought the insurance claim. Third, I cannot even use my own grill on the front porch of my place? He threatened to fine me if I do it again, I had only grilled 3 times total! Fourth, my house got broken into because of how cheap Mr. Lawson is, he refuses to put deadbolts or reasonable locks on the house. You can break into it with a credit card. But he charged me for damages done during a break in. And finally, I bought a house and moved out early, I even found new tenants to move in immediately. He refuses to let me transfer my lease or let them have my deposit to take it over. He claims they can only start a new application and will keep my security deposit. I am 100% sure this is illegal as he will not suffer any losses since there is no time at all the place is left empty. I will be contacting a lawyer asap and see if I can recover any of my money from this terrible landlord. I recommend nobody rent from this... guy... until he actually becomes a decent human being. I almost forgot, his inept "new" assistant at the time had cut off power to the house the moment I moved in and I spent the first weekend without water or power.
I would not recommend this service to anyone. The lady at the office was completely rude and rolled her eyes through the entire conversation. She proceeded to calculate our income incorrectly so when I corrected her, she basically told us we don't qualify when we did ( our income was more than 3.5 times the rent, which at first she said was 3x). When I asked her a question, she didn't answer and rudely replied you just making things complicated. Worst experience ever. I walked out with tears in my eyes
This place is horrible. Customer service at the office is bad, but maintenance is even worse. I moved in August 2016 but my blinds weren't repaired until May 2017. There are bugs constantly, due to the ill fitting screens (which have had multiple maintenance request but still haven't been repaired). If you're looking for emergency maintenance services forget about it. On two separate occasions (within a month of each other) my a/c unit stopped working, with my apt reaching nearly 80 degree. On the first occasion maintenance finally arrived several hours later. Second occasion I was told by the maintenance man they would come the next day, after being told several hours earlier they would be there asap, and not to call back. This place is terrible. If it weren't for the price and proximatey to work and school I would leave asap. Latham Park is a dump don't not move here if you can avoid it
Do not rent from this evil little family run business. They provide you with a cheap apartment that has cheap paint covering all the cracks in the walls, the heat keeps breaking and every time they "fix" it it breaks again 2 days later.. they will also creep around the buildings to watch what you're up to and make up fake "complaints" from neighbors just to make you pay a fine. They threatened to kick me out because "the neighbors have had multiple smell complaints" when they're really smelling their own old building that smells rotting but they want to blame the smell on you... worst place I've ever lived I can't wait to get away from these horrible people who try to sucks every last penny out of you...oh yeah and don't forget the bugs that constantly get in
I lived at Yorkleigh Lane, Jamestown March of 2015. So SO many problems with this place, it's hard to know where to start. Horror story's of the Bats that this place is condemned to. First few weeks living there a baby bat came through the closet. (There was a hole in the ceiling) when we captured the bat, we put it outside and a swarm of bats kamikazed us from the sky to get to the crying bat! So we called maintenance that morning. Took a few days to come out and "inspect" the ceiling. Their solution? Duct tape. Kid you not. Tape. IT didn't hold up for very long. ** They also have a "no pet tolerance" but they have a colony of their own critters above you? *** One night I was in the shower to see a bat perched in the corner of the bathroom. I tried to calmly get out when it started to fly around. It was hitting the walls, me, it was panicking, and so was I. After many failed attempts to get the sucker in the trashcan.. I wacked him. It landed in the sink. Phone calls and an email.... no one came out... When you think it could get worse oh it does. Neighbors would tell us of the mold from previous leakage. I was always sick living in this dump no wonder why.. When my roommate finally got out of there (she was the last to leave) she had two full time jobs and full time in school. She waited for the very last day of the lease to clean due to her schedule. A few days later they called to tell us we had a $1,500 fine to pay. We came in to the office and all of the pictures they had was two days before the lease officially ended. We ended up paying after we tried to dispute the cost in their office, figured taking it to small claims would have been a waste of time with these people. I just don't want anyone to go through the headache of this place, and if anyone is considering it because of the low low cost there is always a reason for it being cheap. Please STAY AWAY!!!
I registered with this service a few months back and I have to say it was a blessing. I was running out of options due to my "not so perfect" credit. I found a house within a week. Thank you so much for all you have done for me! I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and family!
The community I lived at was Lindley Park Manor Apts. Before I moved in i looked at several of their locations. Yes they are older, but are in great shape for their age. The staff was amazing! The 2 office guys were always very helpful and the Maintanence department were always quick. Emergencies were taken care of the same day I called in! Where else have you lived where that happens? I did read one if the reviews about the 5th day of the month falling in a weekend and they had to pay a late fee, well it's in the lease that if its not paid by the 5th the late fee is charged. I don't see why that was an issue? You had multiple days before then to pay. Anyways, the place was great, laundry was always clean! I would reccomend this company to anyone looking for a quite,safe and affordable place to call home!
Poor customer service. No drop box for rent. No online payment option. Doesn't matter if rent is due on the weekend. If you don't pay early you're charged with tons of fees. Not very friendly to the average "9-5" workday.
