I brought my vehicle in for a faulty thermostat and had diagnostics ran. After the diagnostics a tech informed me of a slew of questionable issues outside of this which brought their honesty into question.
The following day, I went to retrieve my vehicle as it was only the fact that the heat was not working, and the motor sputtered out. The vehicle would not run from their diagnostics!?! After making a stir and opening the hood, we come to see the vacuum hose was not connected making the car undrivable.
In either case this place has inexperienced mechanics or they are attempting to steal money in highly unprofessional ways. More of the same.

Don't ever go to this location !!!! Especially if your a Female .. went to get an oil change... someone called me over to show me grease practically leaking from my axel shaft saying I need to look into this right away. It was a $375 + job. Was odd to me that I never seen traces of any leaks nor did I hear any noise.. I took it to another STS in Montclair.. they seen no traces of any leak. A whole week later I have yet to see and signs of grease leaking. They purposely through grease on my axel in order for me to pay for something that's not damage. LEO THE MANAGER AND JOSE ASSISTANT MANAGER ARE COMPLETE RIP OFFS !!!

STS Greenbrook did a regular oil change and left the oil fill cap off the car. I drove the car 20 miles, engine started smoking almost causing a fire, and fumes filled the car with my 2 and 5 year old in the car. had to refill the oil on the side of the road. Oil went all over the motor (see pictures). Spoke to the manager "Monique" on Sunday (Father's Day). She told me quote "I have been doing lubes for 20 years and that if the technician actually left the cap off, more than a quart of oil would have been lost and that the motor would not look the way it does." Not only did Monique call me a liar but i have pictures of the motor to prove it!! She proceeded to demand a receipt from the 4 dollar quart of oil from the gas station that i had to walk to while my family waited in the car disabled and smoking on the side of the road. STS Greenbrook chose to lose a customer over 25 dollars! BAD BUSINESS AND DISHONEST SERVICE! NEVER USE STS GREENBROOK FOR ANY REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE.

I always seem to be buying tires and have done so at many places. STS (especially this branch) was excellent. Service was quick, professional and my experience wasn't anything like the two comments below.

Bad Attitude

I stopped at STS in Green Brook, NJ yesterday. Asked the receptionist if their business still gave FREE brake inspections. She said yes they did. I explained to her that I wanted a second inspection because I had just bought the car for my daughter and had it inspected elsewhere and was told the front and back brakes were very bad and should be replaced ASAP. I also explained that I would not be getting the brakes replaced because the car has a 2 month warranty. She said that was fine and it was still FREE. She called one of the mechanics over and I explained the situation to him too.

The brakes were inspected and the car was test-driven by STS and they came to the same conclusion as the VW service dept. did; the brakes were in bad condition & dangerous; they needed to be replaced.

The mechanic said they could replace the brakes right then & there. I explained that I just needed them inspected. He called Omar over who had a total change in attitude. He took me into the office and said the charge was $38.50. I told him the receptionist said it was free, just as they had advertised. He said I was wasting his time and the time of his mechanics; and that they turned away customers to look at my car; etc... He was loud and rude & I really thought I was talking to a totally different person then when I walked in the door. I also told Omar I was sitting there the entire time and did not see one customer pull in.

Even if the car dealer gives me the money to fix the brakes, I would NEVER take it to STS!!! If they don't like doing brake inspections for free than I suggest they DON'T OFFER THAT SERVICE!!! It's not the $38.50 because that's not a bad price, but if you say you'll do it for FREE than do it for FREE!
