This review really reflects on the timing and waiting of repairs to be complete, rather than the repair itself. From the moment we called in for a repair to the final repair, we were out a dishwasher for about two months. The repairman came to our house four times total, and there was two weeks waiting in between. We made the initial appointment, waited two weeks for the repairman, then he had to order parts, then another two weeks waiting for him to return to install them. We put the dishwasher through a couple cycles and found out it still wasn't functioning like it should. Called in for an appointment, waited two weeks, repairman came out, order more parts, and another two weeks. Finally, the new parts were installed and it was a fix. Bottom line, I think this waiting for parts could be streamlined better, making repairs faster. My next major purchase (appliance i.e.) will definitely be made on warranty repair/service, and it probably won't be through Sears. While I was waiting for my dishwasher to be repair, I had the bad luck with my dryer needing fixed. I tore it down myself, found the problem, ordered parts (expedited delivery), and it was fixed within four days. If I can do that myself, why can't Sears do this under warranty work? Something needs to change if they want my business ever again!

The repairman was very nice and knowledgeable. It was shocking he actually had the part on his truck. What I did not like was the fact that it was a refurbished part and had a 90 day warranty. The part itself was $460.00, which I find very, very hard to believe. I said a few comments, but also realized that the repairman was just doing his job and had no control of the price. Two years ago we took out a warranty in which the CSR flat out lied to my husband by telling him if we took the warranty out it would be a one time charge of $39.99 and we would pay $69.00 for the part and labor. The salesman said that part was $480.00. We were charged $39.99 per month for one year. When we called to confront Sears, the CSR said she could stop the contract and would charge us for the $480.00 part. Be very careful of what the CSR tells you because my husband asked twice about the one time charge of $39.99 and the CSR again said a one time charge. This is exactly why AMERICA needs to bring the jobs back to America and keep them out of the hands of the Asian and Middle East countries, as these people can lie through their teeth and not feel one minute of remorse. Shame on Sears and their corrupt business deals.

A recent service visit to check out clunking sounds in a washing machine was such a wonderful experience for my Mother who is in her 80's and for me, living in another state. The serviceman was extremely knowledgeable, prompt, efficient, sensitive, and a great communicator. What a pleasure. In addition, so much money was saved by calling Sears first; the service was thorough and saved us the cost of replacement.
