This was our 2nd time using Carter: first time was to unload when we moved to Texas in 2014. The crew was fast and fabulous, taking great care of our items. We used Carter this time in Feb18 to load our truck to move from TX to FL. First, the crew arrived and immediately started to complain about the 2 hours they had to drive to get to us. They did this the ENTIRE time. Second, we had all boxes staged out of the way so that heavy furniture could be loaded first and boxes used to fill in gaps. They ignored me MULTIPLE times and took out all the boxes first. They did not load the truck properly, causing the load to not only be imbalanced, but they also did not load to the top of the truck. They loaded the truck so poorly we had to spend additional 5-6 hours unloading and RELOADING it. As we unloaded, we found they took my antique dresser and threw it on top of my chest freezer, severely damaging both. We had extra moving blankets they didn't bother to use at all, wrapped up the antique dresser ONLY in plastic wrap. But they were worried about protecting the MDF Walmart cube that was $15 had not one but TWO moving blankets on it. They told us the truck was full (because they intentionally loaded it to look full) and when I looked they loaded with giant gaps & hid it behind mattress. We were able to reload the back half of the 26' truck and gained over 5 full feet of room front to back. We had to rent a trailer to move the heavy furniture they didn't bother with as directed multiple times. The lost time from reloading, money from the trailer, the lost sleep before a 15 hour drive and causing to unexpectedly rent two hotel rooms were not even the worst things. The worst is that we filed a complaint with moving help and Gary was super responsive to us, admitting fault and agreeing to refund us. Well, a month later Gary stopped replying to us, no refund received. I now have to file in court & a case with my credit card to get this refunded since Gary won't keep his word.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, give you a low ball quote and then slow walk the move. I called and spoke to Teddy and gave him an item by item move and was very descriptive. When the movers showed up they immediately apologized and said that they where supposed to have 3-4 guys. But for not to worry …
From start to finish, South Coast Movers was first with communicating with me about cost and service. Second about scheduling my move to my conveyance and third and most important was when the move notified me on their arrival and the great job they did! They also have a customer service link on their home page with lots of compliments like mine.
These guys were on time and the rates were less than Republic Services. I would highly recommed the to all my friends and family!
After seeing how high this company was rated on Google I decided to try them out. As a fellow veteran I thought I hiring this company for my move would be a way to give back. I was wrong. After dealing with this company I suspect many of these reviews are plants. This company was anything, but professional or even competent. I'll list the issues.1. They damaged my refrigerator, dishwasher, the door frame they couldn't get the refrigerator through, and an antique buffet 2. They lost a screw that connected the refrigerator door.3. They were supposed to uninstall and reinstall my gas oven and dishwasher. I came home to a house smelling of gas, since they failed to even hand tighten the gas connection. The first run of the dishwasher led to water all over my kitchen and discovering they didn't connect the drain correctly.4. They were late, and then took an hour and a half to make a 30 minute drive, all of which I was charged for.5. They promised to fix the buffet and the refrigerator door they lost the screw to. They said they'd be there the next day at 8:00AM. I called after 8:30 and was told he was on his way, his "guys were running late". After 9:30 I called again and no answer. Around lunctime I finally got a call saying they weren't going to make it, but they'd be there the next day at 9:00.6. They fooled me twice and didn't show they next day either. Saying the workers were late and I should just get paid back for the damage they caused. I've been calling back ever since and can't get anyone to answer the phone.I'm not sure how this company is in business. If you're looking to help out veterans there are much better places to do that. My time in the Army taught me not to blame my subordinates for mistakes, take responsibility for my own actions, and of course never be late. Apparently the employees of this company need to go back to boot camp. If only I could give 0 stars.
Highly recommended!I needed a large exercise unit moved out of the condo. Thankfully, I could leave the disassembly to Louis.Very nice guy--courteous--on time--in a perfect world, all service calls would be this easy. Thanks!
Work contract was not presented before items were moved into their moving trailer. The worker who presented me the contract also edited the contract to show an increase of charges. Quoted $110 for two workers and the moving truck, then changed the rate to $115 after my items were loaded. Their website states they charge $105 per hour for three workers and a truck. They did not mention I will be paying $110 per hour per person before they started loading my items. They rounded charges after 89 minutes to two hours. They only deal in cash after they previously agreed to take my credit card for payment. They held my items hostage until I paid in cash and did not tell me I was required to pay in cash until we arrived at the destination. They did not come fully prepared. For example, they had plenty of boxes, but no tape. They required me to sign a waiver releasing them of any fault of destroying or scratching my items. They scratched and mishandled my $9,000 Ethan Allen furniture. I ended up paying double of what their competition quoted me. This company and all of their workers operate in Baytown, Houston, Orange, and Lake Charles.
I used 2 Soldiers and a truck to move my personal residence from Lake Charles, LA to Humble, TX. This was a two day move as the moving company came in and packed everything for us. It was a very good experience. The movers were very professional, always on time and extremely helpful. The pricing was great as compared to others that I checked during this process. I recommend 2 Soldiers and a Truck Movers for all of your relocation / moving needs!
Thank you guys so much ! I was so scared doing this move. Moving from Florida to LA. Tommy was there for me every step of the way and Nat kept his promise about everything. The only issue I had is that the guys at delivery took longer than the guys at pick up. Other than that everyone was amazing. Thannk so much
Great Moving company. Delivery, assembly, they also, even do,tv mounting. I would highly suggest calling them.
Thank you sooooo much Nate. I never moved before and every mover scared me about the next company. Nate was the only one that was willing to help me go through every quote and check them out with the department of transportation. Also he met the same price of one of my quotes that was 400.00 cheaper... I just got delivered, I havent gone through every box yet but everything else went perfect. So thanks again Nate,Time,Mike and Thea... You guys made this very smooth for me and I will make sure my company uses you guys in the future. Thank you very much
