Location- This is my favorite Kerbey location. It's the original and the charm of a house-turned-restaurant makes the small size worth it. And here, you miss a lot of the student crowd. The service is hit or miss, but if you can get Joy as your server, do! She's great.Food- Order the Kerbey Queso (or Cowboy Queso). Just do it. I go with my super-picky sister who doesn't eat pico de gallo or guacamole so we get both on the side. It's perfect because then there's more of everything. The salsa that comes with it isn't spectacular by itself, but alongside the queso it's perfect. The chipotle chicken pasta is awesome. (This might be a seasonal item... I don't think it's on the menu right now)The shredded chicken quesadillas and tacos are decent. The pancakes are thick, heavy ones- not like light, fluffy IHOP pancakes. These guys have serious substance. I like the apple whole wheat and lemon poppyseed! Even if I'm not ordering breakfast, I'll get a pancake on the side. The turkey and avocado sandwich is delicious. The chocolate coffee is good- and you get two free refills. The iced coffee is pretty good too. It's cold brewed which is a plus, and I've never been able to finish the whole glass. When I first moved to Austin I wasn't completely impressed with Kerbey Lane, but now I go regularly because they're open 24 hours, the queso is awesome, and the ambiance is great!

Have you tried this new ""Starbucks""? I mean wow, that is some darn good coffee! Ok, just kidding. My wife lives here at least once a day getting her triple venti nonfat latte with half a packet of sweet and low. Yeah she did just do that...a lemon twist and she'd be a punch-line to a joke.…

11. Fire Bowl Cafe
My husband and I really like the food at Fire Bowl; the Pad Thai is my favorite. We used to go to the location in Sunset Valley pretty often but have not gone as much since moving up north. We have gone on several occasions and have not had friendly customer service yet. This was one of the only…
14. Triumph Cafe
This place is great for lunch or dinner if you just want a bowl of Vietnamese soup and a great spring roll. I've actually ate both inside and outside and I much prefer to eat inside. Sometimes during the week, the lunch crowd can be crazy and it can be hard to find a seat--but the food is fantas…

This used to be my favorite book store in Austin but over the past year it has gone WAY down. I would rather go a little farther to the B&N and pay more for my books than go here anymore. There are NEVER employees when you need them. We were in this past weekend and they had THREE employees FO…
27. Kerbey Lane Cafe
Food was good and it came out fast. Wait staff was polite and the prices were decent. Good home cooked meal with plenty of healthy choices. An Austin classic has expanded.
This place has been on radar for more than a year now. The last time I tried to go here, I couldn't even get into the parking lot. Now that I've actually gotten to sit down and eat, I get it.Courteous employees greet you and grab your name for a seat. Once we sat down, our waiter Saul constantly checked on us. He answered the few questions we had and we ordered the Joey Rocha, the Chicharrones, some Menudo, and a Chorizo and egg taco. The carne guisada is tender and moist, but the gravy/sauce it sits in is Heaven. I could eat that alone with the fresh flour tortillas. I wish the chicharrones were crispy but the salsa it sits in makes up for what I wanted. The menudo hit the spot as it was savory and just went down easy. The chorizo bled grease but had so much flavor. No complaints as long as I can sit down and eat.
Dear Family ManThis place is good for a light moment with your wife or partner once in a while may be once in 2 years...bring kids n file bankruptcy. The cakes are cold...stale cream, mediocre assortment and expensive hot n cold bevs. Great place to sit chat relax outside the cafe overlooking the lake. If you like looking at college kids reading, browsing, may be studying, playing card games or simply whiling away their precious time by all means feel free to come and waste your money and time ..... I would rather go to the new whole foods where they have abundant assortment of fresh deserts and are sweet to sample if you are confused. Service is mediocre as well and most young people working here are not well trained on the contents of their deserts.
Kenny's Coffee House is great for getting a bite to eat or a quick coffee - especially for those of us who live in Wells Branch. Their breakfast tacos are great and reasonably priced, but I think La Brissa's tacos are a little better, and they have homemade salsa. I have also tried their breakfast platters, like eggs and biscuits and gravy - it's all pretty good. I like that their coffee is freshly roasted, not shipped in. The iced coffee and espresso drinks I've had have been very good. It's a plus that they have wifi if you need to get a little work done. I do have to say that if I didn't live in Wells Branch, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit Kenny's, but it's definitely worth going if you live nearby. Support local biz!
Elizabeth Street Cafe is a French-Vietnamese Fusion restaurant. They have everything from pho, bahn mi, and bun to crepes, macaroons, and tartlets. The food was fresh, tasty, and very well made. I had the Keffir Fried Chicken vermicelli bowl which was delicious. If you like spicy drinks, try the Saigon Morning punch. It's made with fresh jalapenos and definitely has a kick when you drink it (Definitely use the straw or your lips will be burning).
We ordered the Croque Madame and the Huevos Rancheros for breakfast: the former is a local interpretation on a soft fresh bun and it was delicious. The giant side of lame boring fries that comes with it was not worth the calories to consume. The Huevos were very good according to my dining partner. The iced tea was freshly brewed and tasty.
Love this Starbucks location (almost as much as I love Starbucks!). It's always clean and the staff is friendly. I've never had to wait in line very long here and my drink has come out quickly each time. One of my biggest complains with some locations is how understaffed they seem - I don't feel like this is the case at all here.
Our first time and we were disappointed. The waiting area is small and in the bar, which makes it hard for them to keep track of who came fist. (Yes others were seated that had com in after us) Not enough wait staff to keep up with the tables or the food orders. Food was barley warm but we ate it anyway as to not waste food.
Fantastic little gem. Food was great (Migas, Chorizo), homemade tortillas, and FRIENDLY staff. Definitely recommend and will be coming back when we're in town againQ!Fantastic little gem. One word: amazing. Two words: food coma.I'd do it all again though! I'm not one to write reviews regularly, but when I do, it's because I've had an epic experience (good or bad) that I feel compelled to share. And in this case, I couldn't help but chime in on all the love for Kerbey Lane Cafe!
