Muffler Man of Kentwood
I have dealt with this business twice now. They have always been up front and straight forward. Today I needed a muffler and dealt with the Manager Kurt. Again, up-front and straight-forward. Said it was first come first serve. I could wait or drop it off. He threw out a ball-park estimate as to what the repairs were going to cost and he was pretty darn close. I chose to wait. In speaking to another customer in the waiting room about the economy and how all business are struggling to fill skilled labor positions, he told me this business was running short staffed due to being two mechanics down. I observed a small understaffed shop operate in a professional manner. Kurt treated all customers respectfully in a matter-of-fact style. Simply put. They do what they say and say what they do. I would recommend this shop to a friend.
Please do not go to any of these stores. I went to the 28th street mufflerman and it was a disaster from the get go. My vehicle was not operational and I was forced by lack of money to leave it with this incompetent place. Not only does Dean swear ( the F word non stop), but it was excuse after excuse of why my vehicle was being over looked and not worked on. When over a month later I finally got it back. My car looked like they trashed it. A hole in the side panel, scratches, the bummers look like they crawled on them because paint was wore off, and I've had numerous other problems that cost me more money since I got it back from mufflerman. What they did should have been enough to fix any issues. This place doesn't deserve even a one star. Save yourself! Don't do it. They are cheap because they don't know what they are doing.
My wife drove across town to get my car from me in order to get to muffler well before 6pm close time. she got there about 525 to be told to come back in the morning there were 3 people in front of us. All we wanted was a quick estimate and a lift wasn't needed to do so. I called into the place to try to explain, at 535pm, but was also told no by ruth. then interrupted with another no when tryin to explain the situation with my wife wasting her time and gas money all for a quote, but ruth didnt care to listen. i am assuming she is selfish hourly employee only lookjng to go home right at close. they lost out bisiness now and for good with the attitude and way she handled this. Also While my wife was waiting Ruth and another older lady whom only concerns were leaving early or on time exactly turned away 4 more potential customers also having an attitude with them. I guess the auto repair business is that such there need no customer retention but this is crazy!
